I too usually use a Cowardly Gurrek, i keep two of them with me. I also have 5 probots with medium armor and 40% all the way down, only 810 HAM but they help out. The droid and the cat will help out when i get too low, im able to run off, allow the pets to step in and use my scout blaster.

"Heh, are you slow? What "other line" does a ranged weapon specialist have to invest in to hunt successfully now? "

First off this thread has avoided degenerating into flames at every turn, so let's lay off the 'tude, my friend.

No, I am not slow, however I was responding directly to the example of a "ranged user/creature handler" and how uber that combination was. If you disagree that's fine, I was only trying to point out that any class is going to be an even more effective combat class by picking up additional combat benefical skills. A pretty obvious point, I know, but that was all I was saying.

For reference, I did 7500 damage the other day to a rifle yeilding rebel npc. I can drop them like a rock. Nothing stands in my way. Random HAM pool? who cares lol. I seem to be having marginally more trouble than i used to, but i havent tried the big bad stuff yet. Ive been a little hesitant. If im feeling suicidal I may try some. Im gaining more and more confidence though.

Good strategy: Faction pets for distraction, then kick their asses.

Havent tried pvp yet though.

Nice thread, i am a Kasi 1/2/3/2 CH 2/2/1/2and i think this works well together. I use a Grand Wrix with light Armor and I am happy with this. If i send it first it takes most of the damage initially untill my damage output starts kicking in and the mob switchess to me. This allows to save my ham as much as possible. I do use a rifle to pull sometimes and that works fine for me. Also i got TK post paatch and have not used any specials extensively but after reading this thread will start experimenting with them.

Does anyone know howi should set mystats for a Wookie? we need love to hehehehe

I am not a dark jedi.
I am not a light Jedi
I do not see the light or the dark, it is all blended into grey.
Balance is the key, without it we would not be in harmony.

When we grey jedi get acknowledged then the real fight will start all of you upstarts will fall and balance will be restored.

I am curious about something. If your strategy of using med skills to compliment your fighting was considered flawed because it used non-tk skills, how can using KD then a rifle be considered better?

I apologize for the inflammatory comment. What you seem to be looking for in your style of play if for "acceptable" ways of earning xp. That's cool, and you still have that going for you. As a person who has been master for over a month now, I'm looking for more large group encounter viability.

Once you've capped your character for weeks, what are you going to do? You're either going to look for large scale fights like krayts, nightsisters, or you're going to go PvP. Well as it stands now there is no way we can survive high level encounters in melee range. It's all about letting pets tank. Ranged combatants don't have to take any other specific skills to be able do their damage from range.

As for PvP, good luck trying to do your damage when the player is immune from knockdown / posture change for 30 seconds.

So I've got a question for ya. how the heck do you get a single mob since they are quite social.

Derr) My comment on using KD then rifle was just to prove a point, because its analogous to Selwynn's strategy which involves two professions.

Pyradius) Well summed up my friend.

Snkg) If you have CH, you do'nt need TKA. Fact of the matter is a rancor is about 20x better than a TKM, and don't even friggin get me started on webmasters and AT-STs.(For those of you who don't konw, creatures can now attack lairs. Yay for CH/Imps with 5 billion credits.)

Ashla) Next time I stumble across a nightsister I'll ask her to pull out a rifle and prone for me.(But seriously, fact of the matter is, those are OPTIMUM conditions, but are very rarely achieved, especially for those of us who choose to remain pure to our TKA-hood)

Please nerf TKA's! I just one hit incap'd myself again with knockdown!

I picked up a set of Advanced Chitin at 50ish% kinetic resist. With TKM unarmed toughness I can beat down a solo baz nitch without losing more than 1/4 of my HAM, as long as the hits don't go through too often.

I don't even bother applying healthshots anymore.
