I tested COB yesterday ( 22-11-03 ) on Force sensitive npc, voritors and in duel and it worked for me.

I either evaded, dodged, counterattacked or I was missed ( I get those messages in the combat channel ), it was also working in a duel against a gun user when he was using specials ( smuggler gun styles ).

I didn't run any statistic nor logged the fights.

For those who tested it, were you wielding your VK before engage CoB ?

I think what you're seeing is the baseline TK defenses. A common misconception is that TK had no passive defense. Not true - we simply do not receive any additional mods to our passive defenses unlike the other melee professions. Here are some actual combat logs. For these logs, I had my VK's equipped but I have gotten identical results w/o VK's equipped, so I doubt that's making a difference.

It's clear that COB is not working as intended. Keep in mind that these are relatively low level mobs. COB is supposed to enable us to tank what pets can tank - that's up to level 250! There's no way we can do this while getting hit 50% of the time!!

We must send a consistent message to the Developers. COB is meant for group situations. Not solo, not duel, heck, not even PvP. It's meant for us to function in the tank role of pets. COB for the other melee classes fits this billing. COB for TK currently does not!

It is obvious to me that when the devs say something is fixed..that means it is not as broke as before.

Keep in mind that TKA didn't even have an evasion skill prior to this last patch. The other three elite brawlers had exactly 2 skills that TKA didn't have, bleed attack and evasion (dodge, counterattack, block). When they added Center of Being, they had to give TKA some type of evasion skill, or CoB would do nothing. So they added Defensive Acuity.

Do not be suprised or shocked if Defensive Acuity doesn't work quite as well asthe other three elite brawlersevasion skills. I do think it should bebetter than it is working now though, especially with CoB turned on.

Please also keep in mind that the other three elite brawler's didn't all have 58 melee toughness, they also did not have +120 speed at master, nor the insane accuracy that you guys had. Also, their evasion mods did not occur as much as you'd like to believe. The bleeds and evasion mods were a trade off because they didn't have high toughness nor high accuracy.

I think they should call it the try to evade and be a punching bag acuity skill, well....sense that is what we are with this broke skill.

Cimianx,

I will try to think to log my fights and post the results. Before Cob, I never see my character dodge, evade or counterattack so often.

Keep in mind that these are relatively low level mobs. COB is supposed to enable us to tank what pets can tank - that's up to level 250! There's no way we can do this while getting hit 50% of the time!!

I didn't know Cob was designed to allow us to tank level 250 mob, anyway a Force Sensitive npc with 80% to all resists and a medium armor is notwhat I call alow level npc.

Soon as I come back home and If I didnt forget to do it, I will run more tests en post the result.

my problem is that a diseased nuna (note: CL sub250 mob) isn't fazed by CoB. my melee defense? yes. but defensive acuity? nope.

I 'tank' better by using the /tumbletostanding, from the marksman: ranged support line.

I 'tank'BEST by going prone and using /takecover, from the marksman: rifle line.

seems that a melee defensive skill should be more effective than these ranged skills... at melee defense. until CoB prevents more HAM loss than it generates through use... it is broken. it may be LESS broken now, but again... if I hurt myself worse than you can hurt me by AVOIDING your attempts to hurt me; that's pyrrhic.

Hehe, no, I wouldn't call this NPC "low level" by any stretch. I'd be interested to see your test results both with COB and without COB. It wouldn't be the first time I've seen an MMORPG where a skill works for some folks and is broken for others. For myself and many others, COB simply isn't making a difference. I was beginning to think that maybe it was because COB was permanently stuck on (I seem to be more robust in my unarmored form), but then some Rebels blew me off my mount and reality returned.

ok now

some of u will get pissed at me for writing this but the cob for tka currently works fine.. I see a noticeable difference when I use it and doing specials doesnt seem to break the cob...

Youre not Neo dodging every hit, and if other melee classes block or dodge more then u, thats because they have a higher skill mod meaning 110 block compared to 96 defence acuity... also remember that they can increase their skill mods via skill tapes.

I also see a dramatic decrease in damage taken when using CoB. I keep it on as much as possible during combat.

I think some of the confusion in reguards to what is functional and what is not, could be resolved by adding more comprehensive messages. Right now messages in the combat window are not specific enough to identify what prompted that message, i.e. if you get a message "... missed you" is this because of SOB? something else caused it? no idea. Now, if Devs could make messages more specific to the cause this could help us to identify patterns.
