Why do some people have such a problem with dabblers?

How exactly does it negativly effect you or your playing?

Truth is most people that dabble to much end up weaker then they thought they would be. Taking all offense and no defense makes you weaker. Takeing all defense and no offense makes you weaker.

Truth isalmost everyone dabbles in one way or another so saying someone shouldnt be able to dabble in your mainproffesion while you dabble in others is just hypocritical.

Please GOD no...my left over skill points are going for TKA just for the power boost, you take that away and I will go O.J. on you...

If they put a timer on how often you can use it, and had a reduced timer at master I'd live with powerboost being so low in the tree...but as it stands now, it's an insanely powerful skill that takes no devotion to TK to be able to get.

If I am not mistaken when i bought this game, and in my manual, this "dabbling" you speak of is encouraged! Being able to heal myself (and do a descent job of it), use a pistol, call a pet to aid me in a fight when no one else is available to group with (or anyone that isn't annoying), or when i am too poor to afford a weapon, to be able to fight unarmed, and do a good job of it, is something I WANT TO DO!

I bought this game so I could "dabble" and if i felt like making my own clothes, I expect to be able to pick up a bit of artisan to make a few garments for myself! If I wanted to heal my friends mind wounds, I EXPECT to be able to pick up a bit of entertainer!

But the difference between us people that like to "Dabble" and the people that choose to master their pro's, is that, you are masters. You have been, ARE, and always will be better at your selected profession than any of us!

But when you start talking about me being unable to do what i want to do, in a game where i was under the impression that this behaiviour was encouraged, a game that I paid for, and continue to pay for. When you start trying to turn this game into YOUR game, instead of ours, to you i say... leave!

Leave us alone. Go play Counter Strike,go awayand play Diablo 2 where a profession is already selected for you!

But leave us people in peace, the 3/4's of the swg community that barely visits these forums, and very rarely ever complains about other professions! I've chosen what I want to do in this game, and so have you. If you are unhappy with your choice, or what has happened to it. Then change profession, or leave.

I'm sick of people changing this game, when this is what we want to do.

It's our game, we all pay to play it. STOP TRYING TO CHANGE IT FOR YOURSELVES!

I didn't sayI wanted it moved or anything, just that I think that if anything gets changed in tka it'll be the stage at which people get access to fow and pb.

no offence -

I think this is the dumbest post I ever read

What is wrong with "dabbling" anyways....

People go commando - just for the flame thrower

People go TKA - just for power boost or KD

People go combat medic - just for the posions

People go Ch - just for pets

Personally I say dabbling is essential to survival in this game!

Don't agree...how many people out there dropped all scout except exploration (just so they can walk up hills faster)?

Better yet, why don't we move ALL skills in ALL professions to master - that way you would at least get a kick out of watching Bounty Hunters running around with CDEF pistols

If powerboost is moved to master, what will be put in it's place? When you looked at the skills the way there were, the xp/reward just wasn't there. Everyone trained meditation last for a reason; it was filler. When i quit 2 months ago powerboost the the lamest skill (top 10 at least) in the game. The buff lasted for about 1 minute and afterwards you took about 100 mind wounds. Thus; no one ever used it, ever. I think the way it is now is something i like to think of as "progress". I think you should start worrying about your character and what he does instead of others who find something they like (jealousy).

IMO this isnt a good idea.. Moving this to the master skill will mean that the tree will be useless until 4 and master. Im sure none of us non-ch-masters liked that last patch which made us useless. But think about it if it were in rl, you heard of this martial arts skill to power up your toughness... If you were a fighter of somesort and didn't want to spend all your time learning martial arts you would learn that skill alone. Its a useful skill, it just like having scout on the side just having exploration 1 to speed you up over hills... Next you will hear people say "Make terrain negotiation a master scout skill because when im in battle at master scout, an exploration 1 person can run me down." - I know thats unlikely, but if he takes the right path then he will run you down.

Once again, i think people who spend that kind of amounts of points have a right to have that skill. Its not like it only take 4 skill points to get, andittakesa few days to get unarmed 4 if you are a normal gamer.

Fine, don't move it, but they should put a timer on how often it can be used...it should be used strategically like force of will and not used for every single situation.

Insanely powerful? More like extremely nifty. Powerboost is a great skill I sure as hell used it all the time while I was leveling up, but I don't think it is something that horribly unbalances the game. So some people decide to spend the 44 skill points it takes to get powerboost more power to them. In reality it's just adecent buff to your HAM. I mean let people have some variety in their characters. Also, unless they go up some other teras kasi skills getting up to meditate 2 can be a rather annoying experience. In my opinion they earn what they get.

Oh shush.

Dabbling is intended and will countinue to happen.

Shape and substance day by day will vanish.
Hair and teeth will gradually fall away.
Always from the days of old men has it been this way
And none born can escape this thing.
