For something like a Dark Jedi, I just stand back. I don't dent them and they kill me in one hit. I feel like the Dark Jedi is saying "Next". Even trying pot shots doesn't seem to work (Going in, taking a hit, retreating back). I was just murdered each time. Brawlers have no place in these fights. Creatures are the real tanks.

Arcadeanu,

You hit it on the head, that was the point I was making the whole time. Due to game design there are parts of the game melee is excluded from. My concerns are really not about KD they are about basic game play design. We can't even take a swing at them, that's broken. Someone wrote "that's why you have 250 skill points" Now name another class other than melee that *MUST* take seperate combat skills just to participate, not excell just participate?

Not ranting, just telling the truth.

Teras Kasi are lethal, nearly impossible to knock down or unbalance(Just kidding). Facing an opponent armed with ranged weapons, high-level abilities enable him to evade blaster fire and close quickly(Not really)...

The thing I don't understand is, What was wrong with TKMs being able to take a good yellow or red con out? It was GD fun.

So what if we could take out the precious ever popping computer mobs? I assure you that I died lots as an almost mTKA (2.4.4.3) pre-nerf and would have continued to die lots as a mTKA. It just made me look for harder challenges. I once held off 3 yellow cons with KD. I had to make the rounds, removing the VK (yes even pre-neerf), and KDing each of them before the other got up to pummel me. In my opinion, this isn't an example of how powerful KD was, it was an example of me using it effectively to keep myself alive. That took GD skill (one wrong move, I was dead) and it was fun. The alternative, an inevitable outcome now, a trip to the clone centre (remember these are 10k HAM mobs), in my opinion, would not be fun.

Could I do this in PvP? Not a chance. The actions of PCs are way less predictable and I would have to be awful lucky, or them awful stupid (and thus deserving), for this to happen. This was the first time in an online game that I felt that I had at least a chance to defend myself against some tough mobs. Why have all these red cons running around if there is absolutely no chance of beating them, for scenery?

Its kinda like being an athlete and knowing that you are going up against a far superior athlete. You know you have one clutch move that, if you execute correctly and consistently, you can use to win. Thats a good feeling. At least there's hope. Not just a feeling of failure before you start.

A friend of mine said the other day that it took months to get anywhere in other online games, that pre-nerf was much too fast. You know what? Thats why I didn't play those other games. I don't have months to get mediocerly powerful. I was working to mTKA before school started so I could have some fun exploring when I'm not studying, not grinding through infinite levels of XP.

I understand that there are people out there that like grinding through xp and want the game to continue for months without getting anywhere. But I think SOE is not realizing that most people don't feel that way. They want to accomplish something. I personally think that SWG was a winner to a lot larger audience but they are going to nerf it into that slow, boring, full-time xp grind of every other online game.

My 2-creds. Take it or leave it.

Going after Dark Jedi tonight, with my PA ~~ I'll let you know. Don't be suprised however, if I manage to find a role. Not because TK doesn't have problems but because I am an optimist and tend to try and make the best of things rather than drowning in hopeless negativism.

You may not beleive this, but I hope you do...I would love to hear of some fun interaction on those kinds of missions. The reason I have been rather unbeliving of some "I can do this" post (not from you, just in general) is folks tend to not tell the whole story.

Prior to the last patch I could solo a full camp of Baz , how...I had a Webmaster..I would send her in, let her get aggro on 3 or 4, heal her 2 times..then peel them off one at a time making about 4k unarmed combat 400 combat a kill or 12 unarmed combat/1200 combat a pull...I could do this on a regular basis. When she got tired I would pull out her sister ..do the same..and then last but not least my gurrek. My power had little to do with my TK skills but more to do with my CH skills.

I hope you have great success tonight, please come share your experince with us..I could use the good news. BTW I'm not drowning in hopless negativity, I just call it as I see it.. and really don't care about KD, just a well balanced, fun class that can participate in the whole game.

selwynn a TKA cant participate in a fight like that. I die in one hit to it. 20,000 dmg is a lot.

i think the refined question is - as a TKA what could you possibly do....

sure i can pick up a gun

sure i can heal my friends

sure i can run like a pansy

but AS A TKA there is NOTHING you can possibly contribute....

you can stand there and be positive all you want, but that dont mean jack when all your comrads are at the cloning center b/c you couldnt contribute to the fight

When grouped with a high level MOB....if you are female...your VK's will turn into a pair of pom-pons...and if you are male...it will turn into a megaphone.

Then you can use your new cheerleading flourish.

I take screenshots of jedi.

Off topic, I don't see the problem with a TKA killing red-cons. After all, my rifleman can solo jedi and the hardest missions in the game(nightsister?)

Please nerf TKA's! I just one hit incap'd myself again with knockdown!

That's what she's going to try and do tonight. Read much? Sure, that last part was a little jab, but Dark didn't get miffed at it. Why do people champion other people's causes when the other people aren't bothered by it?

ROFL...I just realized that I sounded somewhat hypocritical in my last post.

It's just one of those things that irritates me.
