Let me add to this. Not even fighting I notice that if I use a 1 handed weapon Blade of Nyothis(sp?) I lose alot of melee and ranged defense. But if I put on armor it stays the same as if I was using a hand to hand weapon. I was under the impression that wearing armor negated our innate ability not using a weapon.

All the numbers in the char window (Melee/Ranged Defense, Accuracy and Speed) are combinations of your general abitlites added with the abillities of the profession (weapon)
Here some numbers:
As Master Teras Kasi (and Brawler 4040) you'll have the folling general stats:
- General Melee Accuracy +70
- General Melee Speed +25
- General Melee Defense +85
- General Ranged Defense +55
and also the folling stats of your elite profession:
- Unarmed Accuracy +75
- Unarmed Speed +65
- Unarmed Defense +75
(- Unarmed Damage +345)
So if you have no Force Sensitive skills and no Bio-Engineered clothes and no Armor Attachments or Clothes Attachment equip the numbers are simply added with another. So you now see that you've:
- Accuracy 145 (70+75)
- Speed 90 (25+65)
- Melee Defense 160 (85+75)
- Ranged Defense 130 (85+55)
So when you dabbling another melee elite profession and you equip the weapons for that profedsion, you must add the profession specific Accuracy, Speed and Defenses.
The Force Sensitive bonuses are added to the general ones without restriction, Same goes for the the Bio-Engineered clothes and Armor Attachments or Clothes Attachment but here you've a cap of +25 per skill you'll enhance.
Have fun playing

This for UbifaA:
Unequip LS, hit COB, equip LS.
COB works with a LS equipped, but you can't apply COB with a LS equipped.
