I have heard that all the Defence vs. states attacks always have a 10% chance of sticking, therefore +90 is the most you'd want to have, it isn't capped, just a waste of skill points or SEAs.

I was told that it didn't matter how high it was after it was over +90 so there was no purpose.

Defence vs. XXX are capped at 90
Ranged/Meelee Defence, etc are 125

BryianN seems to agree with DarkHelmet-TIO, so for now, the only word is that the +90 is all you need for the Defense vs. states


Atama, are you just poking fun because it is referred to as Combat Revamp (CR before JTL) or is there something more enlightened going on here?

Yes. It's a pet-peeve of mine that people giving info can't even get straight what they're talking about.

Also, don't trust ANYTHING you hear about the revamp. Most of the stuff people mention are either rumors or hoaxes, and the few things the devs have mentioned aren't set in stone. In fact, you can count on most if not all of the announced changes being revised before the revamp. The revamp itself is a LONG ways away so it's hardly even worth thinking about.

Remember that Publish 7 was supposed to end stacking and it didn't (it just implemented some caps). There's no way the devs will ever stop all stacking, they aren't that stupid. They have set up the system to intentionally encourage you to spread your skills around, and they have no reason to stop that.

The maximum effective state defense is +100. For all intents and purposes +100 is the cap. As it seems to be a directly related percentage to the chance that a particular state or special would effect you. So meaning... +100 defense vs KD, should mean you NEVER get KD'ed.. anything higher than +100 would be a waste. If you only go as high as +90 then it makes perfect sense there will be a 10% chance the state would still effect you.

I have +100 vs posture change, +120 vs knockdown. I can't remember the last time I ever had a KD or posture change, but I know it has happened since I got those defenses. I don't think that it's a straight percentage because of that.

I'm TKM, master smuggler, and master pistoleer. All I know is I can tank most anything with a vk equipped but as soon as I switch to a pistol I get hammered. Only makes me think what I have pistoleer for. Is pistoleer helping me be a better TKA at all? or should I just drop it and get some healing or something.


Are any of the pistoleer defences helping when I have a vk equipped? Also what about ranged mitigation 3?

Here is what helps from pistoleer when you are using your VK:

Defense vs Blind
Defense vs Dizzy
Defense vs Posture Change
Defense vs Stun
Melee Defense
Ranged Defense
Ranged Mitigation

The only defense that won't help you from Pistoleer is Dodge.

Ok, so here is what you can add from the other Brawler lines (Fencer, Pikeman and Swordsman) to TKA: (please make any corrections if i have made mistakes)



The main 5 defenses (Melee, Ranged, Dodge, Counterattack and Block)capped at +125
NOTE: Dodge, Counterattack and Block do not apply to TKA. TKA uses Defense Acuity.


Add from Fencer: (uses Dodge)
Melee Defense
Ranged Defense
Defense vs. Blind - not in Swordsman
Defense vs. Intimidate - not in Pikeman (not in TKA without Fencer or Swordsman added)
Defense vs. Dizzy
Defense vs. Posture change
Defense vs. Knockdown
Melee Mitigation
Combat Equilibrium - not in Pikeman or Swordsman
Alertness - not in Pikeman or Swordsman (not in TKA without Fencer added. Master Fencer gets +10)

Add from Pikeman: (uses Block)
Melee Defense
Ranged Defense
Defense vs. Blind
Defense vs. Dizzy
Defense vs. Stun- not in Fencer
Defense vs. Posture change

one question does the defense vs knockdown +50 from pistoleer come in to affect when im using my VK"s ???
