How did you take 1195 points of bleed damage if you sat through the "your bleeding has decreased" message 120 times....and no medical support?

That's really strange....maybe it's just such a bad bleed you couldn't cure it at your level.

The worst bleed I've had so far was from a Stormtrooper Commando for 1000 points of Health damage per tick. I had a doctor healing me but NOT doing first aid as to allow testing of my novice meditation powers....at this point I had no Meditation skills other than novice. Took about 3 minutes to totally stop the bleed.

The bleed from the FS ticked on 3-5 minutes, probably supposed to be really nasty. After I master I'll probably go back and fight them a while to see if it's a level thing. I hadn't seen anything so far about levels to bleeds but *shrugs* anything is possible.

Yoursituation sounds a little strange. Who knows what was going on. Anyways, meditation takes a set number of points off the bleed every few secondsjust like the firstaid skill does. It appears to take more points off per tick at higher med skill levels. Big bleeds take a long time to cure even at master - still a big risk of dying with the heavier hits from high end NPCs or some creatures (rancors have been known to apply some hefty bleeds). Poison and disease works the same way. A bleed that does enough damage to incap you in one tick is going to incap you.

Ok, that last sentence is a little confusing. Are you saying that a base bleed of say 1200 will *always* incap regardless of reduction because it started out high enough to incap? Or is it that bleed reduction resets on every incap?

SweetCaroline, if you get hit with a bleed of say, 500, and you're fortunate enough to gank the mob or person that did it in time and immediately meditate, at lower levels, you may be sitting at the end of your HAM when it ends (if you're lucky enough to not take significant damage during the course of the fight). The higher you go up the meditate branch, the more effective every "Your bleeding/poison has decreased" is.

It updates every five seconds. The first meditate takes about 15 points off of the bleed (if I'm not mistaken), the second meditate about 25, etc etc. At master meditate (and then TKM), you'll decrease HUGE chunks per five-second interval. It truly is a nice thing to see when your bleeds/poisons stop and the person who did them is on the ground with gaping cadaverous wounds!

Then there's the flip side of *almost* coming out and taking that last 18 points of damage when powerboost is coming off, rofl...

Ok, I take the bleed, mob goes down and I incap. I come out of it and immediately meditate go through a little over 30 bleed reduced messages then take 1195 bleed damage and incap. I come out of it and immediately meditate doing another 30 bleed reduced messages and then take 1195 damage.

Point here is it was the *exact* same damage. No apparent reduction from meditation and that's what's bothering me.

I've had that once or twice, but I've never had it in a row. Generally, it goes along with groupchat being broke, characters disappearing in front of me, etc etc so when I relog, it's good.

The way bleeds work, if you get incap'd by a bleed, when you get back up, you will fully heal that bar and then it'll kick back in. You can either use your bar to slow the healing, and/or duel someone and end it, etc...buying you some time to get healed.

maybe its a bug, i'll go get myself hit by a fs sometime

but just in the mean time, if you are low level, the thing meditate probably helps 1/1million of a bleed. i'm exagerating but yea....you understand right?

I think he's saying that a base bleed of 1200 will almost always incap you, simply because it's greater than your ham....think about it....if you're unbuffed, a 1200 bleed will instantly incap you the first time it ticks. If you're massively buffed, that's about 3 or 4 ticks MAX before you die.

If you're a TK Master and lucky enough to start meditating right when the bleed is applied (somehow), it will take time for the bleed to be reduced...probably more time than you have.

I'm saying that meditation's DoT "cures" are not instant (unless the DoT is so minor you can cure it in a single tick). They work on ticks similar to the DoTs. A "cure over time" if you will. If you're DoT is doing enough damage to incap you in one tick, you're doomed without support from a medic. Even if it's just under that threshold, you're stilldoomed, because you can't use stims when meditating - so you'll get incap'd on the second tick. Meditation is a very powerful skill but DoT's still pose a significant danger. Luckily there are very few mobs out there that can put such serious bleeds.. and if you're fighting something that can just tote along a medic or three
