The fact remains most players would follow... guess most must be inept and impatient..... hehe.

My point is that no such problem exists with any of the ranged professions, why should the melee professions be the only ones capable of getting into such a stalemate situation. People say to use structures to your atvantage but may I remind you that the battlefield are open land with no hiding places and nothing but ranged NPCs who actually kite you as well. Players shouldn't be forced into a mixed melee and ranged skill template to be combat effective.

What is the fastest combination after KD to kill as TK? is UnarmedHit3 the best move TK has or is itunarmedHead Hit1?

That depends, most of the time its quicker to kill with a head hit, but if they aren't buff and have armour, (They not only deserve to die) But UH3 just mashes them into pulp.

I totally disagree. I think anything less than a mixed melee and ranged setup is ideal and at the top of the food chain as far as combat effectivness goes.

Gee, I don't think I follow this guy in his view. I mean, isn't it obvious that someone who can attack the enemy over a distance has a distinct advantage over those who can't? I mean, if you look at the real world, any time a primarily melee force has went up against a army with ranged weapons, the ranged guys have won. Hell, the mongols captured most of asia because they "kited" (e.g. Calvary Archers). Same thing with the crusades. The europeans were beaten badly several times due to the moors use of cav archers, even though cav archers didn't last long when the heavy cav closed the distance gap between them (if that option was available). This is kiting right? So, here's a good formula for warfare:

Long range attacks +Mobility > Short range

And yes, if my post here was anymore obvious I'd also probably post that the Bush admistration is bad for the US (especially foreign relations ).

Gameplay and reality are rarely 100% compatible. If it was then people would say life is fair and balanced. The fact is that games are supposed to be enjoyable no matter how you play and that there should be a balance struck. In the case of melee professions I often ask, what is the point of them being there at all when ranged combat professions are actually superior? I have submitted to TH what the purpose of melee professions are in the GCW. No reply. I remember Q-3PO being asked why melee professions in the game a long time ago, the answer was that some people find them to be fun so they added them. Ultimately if they only exist to be 'fun' then surely allowing a ranged fighter to compete with even grounds with a melee fighter is an integral part of the 'fun'. When you know that the ranged fighter can win every time as long as they aren't stupid it ruins the enjoyment.

Just for once I'd like to see another player off in the distance, run over and let them see me. The following fight would then be fair but allow an even chance for either person to win. As it stands at the moment I will only engage another player under very strict circumstances, that is they need to be unware of my presense until the last minute (exceptionally tough to do with a radar), there needs to be some degree of 'cover' to work with and ultimately I need to ensure that the first attack I land is something to stop them running away. I don't mind a challenge but I would prefer to have full access to all things in the GCW without getting my butt handed to be because of limitations of the melee professions. The thought of taking part on a raid into a battle field is futile because the NPCs there will detact you will before you get within striking distance, I'll have no cover to work with plus the fact is that GCW NPCs have a nasty habit of kiting you.

I agree with you on the perspective games rarely, or even should imitate real life. But on this particular issue I'm still in complete disagreement. It just runs against common sense.

well said, but that is also why their are 250 skill points, and that all the melee profs don't require the mastery of more than 1 skill tree

I can get 4.2k mind, I tell rifleman to bring it! I got 40% Stun resist, and PSGs they help heaps, they start running when they see that they can't do anything against you

Mind at 4.2k you ask?: 1100 base + 1100 dancer + 550 powerboost + 900 Brandy (x2) + 500 Muon if SOMEHOW you feel like upping it. Then you can get some drink too. With that you just laugh at the rifleman, mind is higher then other stats

Im a Human so it works, and my Focus and Willpower are in the 2-3k mark as well. So its damn good against the mind hitters. With the PSGs and Stun resists up, your gonna romp your enemies

This is all you need to do. Its what I do, minus the dancer buffs because I dont like waiting for 10 mins in the cantina. I'm zarbrak, I have 1000 base + 500 powerboost + 980 with 2Brandy (gets my Focus and Willpower 980 also)+ a couple of Canalope (gets my Focus and Willpower +900). So the end of it I have my secondaries are around 2500-2700, that is without muon. I have muon but never use it because it really makes no difference unless I'm fighting a CM. Let me say, I spamall specialswhile I'm getting mindshot from rifleman and I dont see any movment on my mindbar. Of course I'm also using stun resistant armor of 37%....so that could be the reason also.

I've never had a problem getting people to follow me around corners or into buildings. Most of the time once they're in there and starting to get hit they panic and run directly into the nearest corner. As a TKM you must think constantly in PvP to have any hope of surviving. Here are tips that have helped me win for those that asked:

Set up a hot key for /heal self because you will burn through all your HAM punching through composite.

Intimidate works really well to make KDs work better.

Find a good chef and always have brandy with you.

Use cover, if they don't follow you, meditate to heal any wounds you picked up and go ahead and wait...your only other option is die so I think you can afford to be patient

As a TKM only use VKs if the person is wearing armor

Keep moving unless you've got someone on the ground

Set up a hot key with /unarmedknockdown2 followed by /warcry

Set up another hot key with /unarmeddizzy1 because /UAKD2 doesn't always carry its own dizzy

Use lunge especially if the target is already dizzy

Never fight in PvP without power boost on, regardless of if you have buffs or not

Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever chase a combat medic, if you can't find cover burst run away, you're no match for them

Attack the mind pool of combat medics and doctors, don't bother with UAH3, use head hit, if they're grouped don't DB them (they'll come right back and poison you) leave them mind incapped until you've dealt with the rest of their group

If you don't have novice medic, get it

ALWAYS examine your target first, look at their profession list, their armor, their HAM pools and weapons before you attack...I cannot stress this one enough, use cover against any and all ranged professions and go for the throat on any brawlers (there isn't a brawler profession that can beat us 1 on 1).

Actually no, curing disease and poison hits your mind bar, poison and diseases used by a CM probably were hitting your mind bar, the bounty hunter with eye shot was hitting your mind bar, and rifleman's headshot three from the combat medic was after your mind bar. If you total that up that would be6 drains on your mind bar. Your best bet is to get out of the line of fire and meditate the poison and disease away. This will remove the head shot and the eye shot from the picture for a short while, it won't require huge chunks of your mind pool to do it unlike curing it via master doctor meds and it really is the only shot you've got at surviving. Right now with venom enhanced poisons and diseases combat medics are pretty much throw and forget killers even for master doctors. The poison will tick down your mind bar to nothing before you can cure it and the disease will incap you. As a TKM we're pretty much the only people in the game that won't three incap die under this, but you absolutely have to start meditating the second you get hit or this is going to happen 100% of the time.

Now for the upside of it...combat medics have the defensive capabilities of lab mice. So if you get to them first you can take them apart pretty easily, but always go for the mind pool, they can heal themselves very effectively and you're not going to have much time, so limit their attacks by hitting them in the head as soon as you KD/dizzy/warcry them. If you're really fast (like me) hit them with a blind too, that'll cut back on how well they can hit you with their ranged stuff. I've taken out five combat medics solo (only one was a master though). The biggest weakness they have is over confidence that you'll die if they leave you alone, diseased and poisoned. With everyone else that's a very safe bet, with a TKM that isn't always the case.
