Need to give something nice to the other profs as well

He did mention that all professions should have something like this, but was only giving examples for TK because he is a TKM. I see no issue there as it would be up to the Developers or each other profession to come up with their own ideas

ThisIsTheMatrix, I like the idea

Aye, but with the variety of things that this prof has that the others do not leave little to be changed :/

Well thats just the meditation tree and its specials. The Kata would be in all melee classes, and with just a small hint of creativity, each profession can have something unique and worth mastering. If the devs stated that nothing can prevent you from being a jedi (I didnt read much about the game lately) then that might be the death of star wars galaxies. It will end when the other professions are fully neglected for thejedis. They can always change their word, they have not really stayed with their original idea quite often. Most noteably is about jedi. "Jedi will be very very very rare". This seems to have taken a complete 180.But if they have any common sense, they will not want all the people to be jedi. Leave it open to any who want to do it, but something like these elite-elite's will give the non-jedis something cool. Once the combat and the GCW revamp get through and balanced, then all the professions should have their "unique" aspect of their profession known.

But my question with nearly all the "post master" skills remains... Where does it end?

unfortunately, players always need more, and eventually someone would ask for an grandmaster - elite skill tree, and so on.

That would be tough to find out when it ends looking at the state of the game. But just these would add some more variety between each master of a given profession. I would think after elite-elite's are added, and each profession is not only balanced, but fun.....then it could end.

I've always been against "elite-elites" in principle and I'll explain why.

This game is designed so that advancing a character goes by quickly, and unlike many other MMORPGs the game isn't all about raising your character's levels. Instead, you can max out your skills relatively quickly in order to enjoy the content that exists in the game outside of just grinding skills. (Jedi being a notable exception of course.)

Adding "elite-elite" professions simply adds to the grind. I would rather that other content and fixes be implemented as opposed to simply making the grind last longer.

I understand where your coming from, and the bold sentence is the key to this paragraph. IF they hadd this enjoyable content that exists outside grinding, I myself might switch my opinion on elite-elites. As it stands now....with no grind, there is no game. Add content, balance professions, keep jedi population down, and have fun.

Booooo! Hisssss! Just kidding! This was(or at least very very similar)my idea about advancing each branch of the skill trees to a mastery of a single aspect of that profession. Example Advanced Power Techniques(More Damage), Advanced Meditation(Better Meditation & Techniques), Advanced Pricision Striking(Higher Accuracy & Improved Targeted Pool Attacks)and Advanced Balance Conditioning(Better State Defences).

Atama you must admit he's right though. Without a grind there is nothing to this game. The PVP is won by who has the best foods/Weapons/Buffs & Armour. If PVP is going to be fixed and revamped to require skill to win and not "The Richest Man Wins" Contest.

PROS

  • Adds "Content" to the game.

  • Will make anyone in love with their profession really want to stick and commit to it

  • No more armies of "<My Profession> Master". It's like an army of clones and you look at the master and say..."hmm all my work to achieve master and he's got it to. I'm no different."

  • Adds a much needed variety to professions and duels.

CONS

  • Devs would probably never going for an Elite Mastery of a profession because it's alot of work(it's like creating clones of all the professions and making them improve and not imbalance the profession).

Sorry that's about all i can think bad about this idea. Feel free to add some Though :/

IDEA

Why not make Duels like they did in Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast™. Where each player is set to the Same health/Shields. Obviously there's no shields but create a set standard for duels. Like all players who are in duel start with 1000 HAM and maybe 500 on secondaries.

Any foods or spices they want to take are then forced to be used in battle this will create the variety and still give foods the uses they have.(If you take foods before the duel it won't take effect. The effects will be cleared aswell as both players stomachs) I know this won't fix anything as someone with the most expensive VK will win but something like this to create a level playign field so the players must be given like a 20second cease fire to take foods/Drinks and equip weapons. Anyone?
