Thread: Wookie teras kasi?
Couple quick points about armor:
1. Wookiees can wear a little armor, like bandoliers & belts.
2. These armor pieces don't give a percentage protection, but they do drop the attack values on some weapons, because you now receive a defensive mod(the best example of where this is helpful is the Tuskens, who use rifles that do a lot less damage if your armor rating is light vs. none).
3. Armor rocks if you get the good stuff, I havea suit of 33% kinetic protection & I can solo 3-5 Rogue Banthas with my armor on before healing, only 2 without it(I'm still a novice TKA).
4. Armor is extremely useful for running away from energy weapons, you just put it on & you'll live when that camp of valarians appears out of thin air.
/armorsmith & TKA.
Wookiees don't get to wear armor because they have the highest health stats in the game. You can pick up a personal shield generator mk3 for a little protection against energy attacks but that's about all that's available to us. You can also use clothing modifiers.
On another note. I'd really like to see a new melee wookiee skill added called /wookieerage. You get near your opponent and rip his arms off. Lets see those blaster jockies try to fire at me while I'm beating them with their dismembered arms. Now that's what I call satisfaction!
Armor is not for the weak....
if you want to see a comparison ill gladly fight anything you want me to... Once without and then again with. That way you dont have to take someones word on it you can see it yourself.
And i cant wear boots or gloves.(Trandoshan). And dont wear a helmet cause i dont like the look so another race could have even more protection than me.
There are currently essentially 2 types of tkas, the tankers and the assault happy tkas.
I play a tanker. I wear composite (especially in pvp), use intimidate, and have gone doctorso I can heal my wounds and buff up my pools. A combat for me consists of attacking, using intimidate, then berserking if my health isn't in immediate danger, all with vk's on. Sometimes I'll throw in a stun/blind but I'm generally too lazy to unequip myvk's and don't bother. I also use a rock beetle for tanking assistance when needed (a rock beetle tanksexceptionally well when you've got it's pools buffed and you can toss it a stim whenever it gets low on health). Once berserk is in place I'm typically doing 5-600 dmg a hit and I'm taking 30-40 in return. Throw on an occassional heal (I take my helmet off for this) and you can tank some huge mobs.
Then there's the assault happy tkas. These are the non-armor wearing special attack junkies. They get into a fight with no armor and generally don't use vk's at all. Their technique is simple...get whatever status effects you want on the guy and go nuts with unarmed hit 2 (very low ham cost to use this). I've tried it out before and it's actually pretty effective, especially when combined with doctor buffs so you can heal the dmg you deal to yourself and buff your stats. My only issue with this technique is the constant drain that is inflicted on the mind pool by the constant special attacks (since the mind pool is what keeps me alive) Still, it's an effective technique.
Why am I posting all this? Because if you play a wookie, you will most likely be playing the second style. Your survival system will be to take down the enemy as fast as possible, going with the idea that the less time the enemy is alive, the less dmg he'll be able to deal to you. Intimidate will be your only real dmg reducer so learn to use it well, and give the personal shield generators a look. I just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting into by choosing a wookie. You restrict yourself in your playing style a bit, so I thought it best you know what you might miss out on (course you may not care for the first technique, which is of course fine
)
Anyway, that's my 5 bucks on the matter.
Liriel Baenre
im soon to have 2 pets with me that can take dmg, so if they act tankers, then i can charge in and kill the mobs before they even start to hit me. and im also a novice medic so i can do a little heals on them fairly easy, about 500 dmg healed every time.
so playing tka isnt a real problem for me then i think? BUT it may be a little boring just doing the same thing over and over ever time, thats why im quitting carbineer cause crippling shot is all i use. period.
and still i dont know anything about that personal shield everyones talking about, what is it? what does it do, and most important, what does it cost?
Liriel nice analysis, i play the second type since we can't ware armor and true the mob goes down fast butI still use vk myh regen is fast enoughthat i can kill 3 mobs without inc myself but i also look to see which Ham pool i do more damage in and use that move as th efinishing blow. Overall good effectiveness and it keps you on youre toes. With bigger mobs, since i am a ch i send them in first and do the first style. But i think using the second is best for wookies and it keeps it exciting, one wrong move and you are in trouble so you need to think fast.Make sure you guard that mind pool to be able to heal yourself. And yes the tape works onregular clothing.I am trying to find a uniform marshal to try panels on our battle stuff. someone posted that panells can be used for padding. Iwill post the results whenI find out.

And I can assure you I die less than most other TKA's. In fact, Wookiees and Trandoshans seem to make for the better TKA choices. ![]()
I am a wookie TK master.
We can't wear armor, but no TK would wear armor anyways, and if they do, they are suffering because of the styles and the ham costs using knucklers.
The wookie has more stats to play with because they do not have armor, that means you could do somthing like this:
900 health
750 str
500 con
900 action
550 quickness
500 stamina
900 mind
650 focus
500 willpower
We have available to us more stat points, and i dont think anyone will say that is bad, or a disadvantage.
Stats are important to TKs because of the high amount of ham styles cost, our knucklers if i am not mistaken are 58health 48action 32mind to use. Thats high, and even worse with our styles. high str and high mind makes styling pretty much only lower our action pools respectivly.
also a side note about wookies, The cloth armor we can wear tissue enhanced and socketed, if you choice to wear a smock, gives 20 sockets and 7 tissue enhancements. This is not working now, but eventualy it will, and that gives wookies an advantage because wookie armor has zero penalites for wearing it.
GL with your new TK, wookeis make great TKs but that doesn't mean only wookies are good TKs, its just small diferances is all.
