Hmmm

these are all good opinions thanks guys I think I'm going to stick to the plan and master all three (for now at least), which does mean relinquashing scout and medic skills. I usually travel in a group and everyone has med skills so I'm sure this will help, and if I find it too inhibitive then I will make the big "what to drop decision."

I feel like all a TKA needs is novice medic 0-0-0-0. With our meditate line we get bleed healing, cure poison, cure disease, heal wounds, and now we get abuff with powerboost. All we do not get is damage healing.

What I have done: Commando 0-4-4-0 / TKM / medic 0-0-0-0 / explore 3 / hunting 2

Then on top of that I purchased a few pieces of bio-engineered clothing that add +25 injury treatment. I am not sure these stack after this latest patch, but if they do, one could get a very high injury treatment. We will see if this works out in the end.

P.S. The hunting line is because I love to hunt for and sell rare meats. It turns a good profit. Heck I may even go to hunting 4 and drop some heavy weapons support.

a master TK and master brawler with full composite, needs no medic, you could constantly work on 10k ham mountian squils and be just fine w/o medic.

take away brawler and things become a little more difficult. i suggest if you dont want medic, get master brawler. if you dont want master brawler get some medic.

Who needsa medic? Just drop some drugs!

And what are you planning on fighting? TKA has unarmed knockdown and dizzy, what's going to be hitting you at all? Everythig you fight will be lying on the ground in a daze, thinking that 2000 health seems like a lot for a player...

I'm a new TKM and Master Ranger with only 18 points left which i use for novice medic. I solo hunt all the time usually with a beetle to soak up most of the damage. I think it is essential to have stimb usage as i get attacked occasionaly too. I haven't really since making master in both the other day so things are bound to be a little different.

Nevertheless, i think the ability to heal oneself during battle is always helpful.

In the end, TKA with medic is possible and is done quite often. Medic helps VERY much, even at novice it decreases load time and increases survival rate. A good move is to invest in the best helm you can get, keep novice medic, and hotkey off the helm everytime you heal. You can get stim bs with 350-400 damage and a robe thats +25 injury treatment for 25% more damage on your heals. I know a guy who's Master TKA/ Master Ranger and novice medic and he's definitely okay with the combo. Dont forget to intimidate, especially if you drop medic!

Hehe, i find this interesting... sure i knew people liked to do TKA/Medic but it sounds like people think its imppossible or 100% idiotic? =D

Well Call me an idiot then, i am a Trandoshan TKA(2,2,4,3) and never had nor planfor nowto have any medic skills. It has always worked out fine for me, never used armor either so i guess my ham costs are lower, and since i got Power4 i almost never used my knucklers. It works great and its getting better...

Sometimes my friend who is a doctor, is out with me when i go hunting, and it surely helps, but now with powerboost it will be even better for soloing. More often than not i team witha Pikeman/BH friend of mine but like i said, i have soloed just as much as i have grouped. It takes more planning and more time in all to solo but its perfectly doable without medic skills.

Recently i started playing with Commando(flamer, what else?) for some ranged initial damage to help me out. I didnt want to go CH since there are already way too many pets everywhere for my tastes, and i never was much of a pet person in these types of games.

Once i can heal my own wounds ill be set =) Regeneration helps somewhat so maybe its more easily doable as a Trando than most races. I knowi had a Zabrak for a while, and he simply wouldnt regenerate at a decent pace so i guess as a Zab you more or less have to have medic if you want to fight.

Well just wanted to say something since im off from my comp and cant log in, been browsing the boards a bit and must say its very frightening how many things are reported broken, hope it will be playable when i get back home. Played a few minutes this morning, permanent knockdowns were a nice, if unintentional sideeffect

Have a good one all,

I have no medic skills, and never plan to. Some of you may think this is suicidal, but in PvE with the enemy blinded, I get missed 5 or 6 times before being hit, and have armor for it. For PvP, you kill anyone you land your KD/Dizzy on pretty much right away anyway, and as long as you can get to them without being hit by others or eyeshot/flame you should be alright.

It can and does work, just not in the same way as aTKM/Doc.

I am a TKA Master, andI have no medical skills, however, I have never PvP'd. If I decide to PvP, I will definately take on medical skills of some kind. I dueled another TKA the other day to match the Wookie TKA and the Zabrak TKA, and right before he was about to incap, he through a huge heal on himself. needless to say I was eating dirt shortly thereafter. Zabrak TKA/DOC rock!
