Ya know just recently I decided to go TKM....I just picked up unarmed for the fun of it and REALLY started to like it, i even went and deleted my Wookiee that was a BH/CH/medic/brawler hybrid to create a Zabrak brawler to become a TKM eventually...I could have very easily when holocron hunting and done numourus other things with my other charaterbut i wanted to be the best TKM i could be.I felt that not being able to use armor could possibly be a major disadvantage so thats why i deleted my charater, but to get back on subject.... does this make me a bandwagon jumper because i recently decided to try another profession and i enjoy it???
Absolutely not. Welcome aboard.
Well i hope they enjoy runing lol,
I dont really think its a bandwagon just all the commando's now have to pick up tka or pistoleer to avoid a 2.5x dmg mod inclose fighting
I took up TK shortly after the KD patch. I mastered fairly quickly. At that time on this board people were whining and complaining, leaving the game, dropping the profession, ect. I have really enjoyed the class, and am fairly proud to have mastered it during it's dark period. The thing that I found was that TK's at that time had a mutual respect for one another and the hard work that was put into achieving mastery. With the ease of the current TK path due to fixes to our class, we have had an influx of your typical Leet gamer. This bothers me a little because it diminishes some of the roleplaying I used to do. I rarely /kowtow to another master anymore, and alot of the bandwagoneers are just not the type of people I'd like to associate with. Call me a snob if you like, but that's just how I feel. Now, on the upside... many of these Leet types rarely spend the time to figure out how to play the class; and with the influx of more melee types in PvP... well, lets just say that I have lost track of my body count.
Are bandwagoneers diminishing the mystique of being TK? Yes...
Are bandwagooneers ruining the class? No...
Will I refuse to train them? No..
Will I utterly destroy them in PvP? Well, I have a perfect record against them 1 on 1 so far...
If you want them out of the class you have two options:
1) call for a nurf on TK
2) get on your soap box and support the other classes in getting some of the changes they are asking for.
If I were you Pimp, I'd go for number 2.
So you won't train me? Bah! You just don't want any competition killing Rebels in Anchorhead ![]()
Smart yes but your gonna have to deal with the fact that most "true" tka's don't think that using a pistol, or a pet are prerequest to being effecitve.
In addition you waste the TKA skills once you use panicshot and low blow you can just let your pet eat them or use last ditch to finish the job.
I'm just glad I haven't seen these types of things on the Wanderhome server. We are fortunate to have TKM's like Rocknu who are great players. I have yet to come across a TKM or former TKM who hasn't stopped what they are doing to train or answer any questions I have. I have been working on TK for a while now, as well as smuggler. I'm a casual gamer, and enjoy playing when I can. I teach and train every skill I can when I get the chance to. When I reach TKM, I will pass on what those before me have passed to me: the training of a skilled, patient Teras Kasi Master.
Banwagon TKA: Someone who starts to go tka b/c of whats happening to them
Novice TKA: Someone who is starting tka b/c melee is fun and want to enjoy going up it
Novice Banwagon TKA: Is going TKA b/c is fun but didnt consider it till these changes happend.
I started out as a Mon Calamari Artisan weakling on Talus. I thought it'd be cool making and selling stuff. I played a few weeks doing crafting missions and surveying and not fighting hardly any.
Then one fine day, after being bored to tears, I stumbled across a bad-ass looking Zabrak kicking the hell out of an npc using Teras Kasi. It was the first time I'd seen it and it looked SO COOL! I wasimmediatelyconverted. Now, I am a Trandoshan and almost aTKN. I only get to play maybe 8 hrs a week but it is so much more fun being TK.
Do I care ifI am a BandWagoneer--hell no, I'm having FUN!!

Well put....well put. Voices everything I've been feeling as well as most of the rest of us that have been here for a while. Thank you for articulating it so well.
