I can say I am 100% certain of this: dodge food DOES NOT work as tka. it only works as fencer and pistoleer.
someone here posted something about 'xxx missed you': this is due to ranged/melee defence. dodge is either 'evade' or 'dodge'.
I am not certain about the CoB, but I feel it does not work.. (mind you.. I'm used to the fencer cob)

CoB does work indeed. I have noticed a dramatic survival rate in using it not that I die I just mean damage that I have taken. With CoB I walk away from a NS protector battle with little to no dmg. Without using CoB I had to call for help to kill one. So yes CoB does indeed work though not really as it states it does. You are just not hit as often but when they do hit you it is for the same amount of damage. As for aircake I have never used it as being a trandoshan with a weak mind I have to use canape.

People keep saying 'confirmed by a dev' but I have yet to see a quote.
I am a TKM/fencer. As a fencer, I get messages such as 'you dodge' or 'you evade'. I do not get these messages without a fencer weapon equipped. I get more of them than usual with air cake and a fencer weapon equipped. I have my defenses nearly maxed so generally all I see is 'xxxx misses you' unless a dodge actually works.
I would like to see the quote that it helps ranged/melee defenses, that would be good to know.

There was not a direct dev answer on the player forums for this, but the Chef Correspondent, SciguyCo, asked on the Correspondent forums and received a reply which he posted:
The dodge bonus foods (Air Cake, Pikatta Pie, and Deneelian Fizz Pudding) are not actually giving a buff to the Dodge skill. What they do is add a bonus to the player's general defensive skills, which determines whether or not an attack hits at all.
These foods will not cause you to see "creature attacks you but you evade" in your combat spam. They should cause more attacks to miss you completely. If a hit occurs, then any evasion skills (dodge, counter, block) may trigger, but that is separate from the effect of the food.
Since the bonus is added to the defensive skills of the general to-hit formula, it benefits anyone being attacked, whether or not they have the dodge skill bonus gained in fencer and pistoleer.
The raw benefit you receive would depend on your existing defensive skills (melee/ranged defense, center of balance, etc) and the offensive skills of your attacker (weapon accuracy, bonus from posture, range modifier from weapon, etc). Someone with only 20 in defensive skills may see a large difference after eating a +20 Pikatta Pie. A master of an elite combat profession may see a smaller percentage increase in missed attacks since the Pie's +20 has a smaller contribution relative to their inherent defenses.
