I agree, the TK is a very balanced profession. In High end PvP I tend to loose a lot if im out in the open. Rifleman and Combat medics are the unbalanced professions.
Im a Master Brawler / Master Medic / TKM
I think fencers have a better advantage in PvP because of the high dodge. It doesn't matter that the fencers only hit the healable damage, they still can win if they keep you on the ground.
here is how I see the combat professions right now:
TK = Balanced, perfect as is.
Fencer = could use some more damage types but all in all this class is about as balanced as TK.
Swordsman = Could use more damage types like a new blast weapon with better accuracy. I think a better line of special attacks other than area attacks would also help the class out.
Pikeman = A very neglected profession.
Pistoleer = too weak of a combat class. Sure they have a lot of damage types, but the only way they can do any real damage is with krayt weapons.
Carbineer = a weak profession, butit would work better if the class got a few new damage types and more working specials.
Rifleman = a Way overpowered profession. Riflemen should need to be in a kneeling or prone position for accuracy. No way should a rifleman have the kind of accuracy that they do while moving.
Bounty Hunters = Very Neglected and Under powered
Comandos = Same boat as the BH, but Comandos really got hit hard by the nerf bat.
Combat Medics = An over powered class, but it wouldn't be so bad if they would get rid of mind poisons and deseases.

Well first of all TKM is all about getting what you need before hand.... out of crates and such lol (and not being a zabrack like i am because we have a max of 500 focus and eat our minds away). Well im a TKM Master doc Zabby who when i have a music and dance buff with my 436 45min 50 fill brandy 731 33 fill canape some nice 92 thakitillo (kd def) some muon gold and ahrisa 11% stun armor helmet can own any fencer out there... besides a dude named lorik who made me waste 50!!!! fire blankets and nearly 60 poison heals lol. The key is time and not being stupid and spamming a hit that eats your mind faster than they could damage it.
Next master BHs and pistoleers are not underpowered and any serious pvper who is a MBH Mpistoleer can eat me every time.
If all of that didnt make sense sry its really late lol.

Know what's funny now, if you don't have doc 4030, you lose to the mini-cm pikeman. Pikeman are the new FOTM. LOL.

Exactly magicalhat.. I've seen many posts and to be honest I was somewhat skeptical on going back to tka thinking i'm gonna gonna be gimped etc... Well I was thinking of picking up fencer, but I remembered back when acklay batons were much more powerful and had bugged stats and I wen't along killing everyone in sight.. But some reason I dropped it all for tka sold my baton. So I thought this was the profession for me.. And only till a few days ago I picked TKM again for my 6th time playing this game. Coming from the ub3r crowd of rifle/doc/cm's because it does get boring fast... Rifles was enjoyable but after playing it for 6 months it got stale.. I'd have to say it was my 2nd most enjoyable profession but using headshots over and over gets kinda boring.. So i'm happy to give up combat medic since it isn't fighting at all.. Its pushing an "I win button."
So after i'm done grinding my template after about 2 weeks or so. Could have been faster, but I lost most of my grinding spirit along time ago so i'd log in use my buff set then head out talk to some guildies and do other various activities. So about 5 days ago I grouped up went overt and headed to coronet just on patrol for overts. So I find an Imperial attacking a n00b probably just running faction missions. I run in kd him and he runs off. So I lay down my states which I all have in a macro and he eventually gets up and starts running away. I lunge him and he falls back down and I just hammer on his mind and in about 15 seconds he's dead.. So my group decides to head to theed.. Well we get there and theres imperials galore along with 3 high level jedi. Well I run out the back chased by a jedi and a swordsman and a rifleman. So I prepare when I see them running down the hill at me.. Well I do pretty well at holding my own. First time facing a Jedi asa TKM. Well I start looking at my combat log after I have all my states down and notice he's doing about 200 at most to me. The swordsman even worse and the rifleman misses most of his hits anyways and even if he does he gets in about 80 damage to my mind which is easily regenerated.. So I eventually get the swordman down. Not impressive damage 100-120 damage but he stays down pretty long and dies. So its me the rifle and the jedi. So I decide to go for the rifleman, Get him down a few times but he doesn't stay down long and knock about 3/4 of his mind but then his group comes along and i'm forced to make a retreat. Luckily I pounded enough force out of the jedi so he couldn't chase after me..
So those are just some of my PvP stories. I was quite surprised that I did so well.. TKM isn't good at all for taking on gigantic groups of people.. 3 people at most and only if your inside. I'm sure fencer with dodge could take avoid alot more of the damage if they know what they're doing. But most likely they'll lay down intimidates and have stun armor/psgs. So try not to take on the whole opposing faction when fighting but for duels we do quite well if you know what your doing. So your lack of faithin TKM isn't all true. Do what you feel like and know that we can hold our own most of the time.. We aren't completely screwed in PvP at all.. We just lack a good source of damage. If you decide to pick up TKM great, if you stick with fencer please don't anymore of I challenge TKM's to fight threads. Because if they know what they're doing your gonna lose as a fencer.
Damnit i'm limiting all my posts to 1 paragraph or less from now on..

Well, I've gotten a lot better since that post- first of all, during the fight I didn't eat food. I think now I could take that guy solo, but btw...my generator is suppossed to block 17 percent stun but it isn't(I don't think) anyone know why that would be?
