Which thread are you replying too?

When did I say anything about hunting on 'noob' planets or baz nitches?

Not really sure what your trying to say actually. I take it your having trouble playing a tka now?

If you guys keep sayin' "no blues should be able to come close to kill a TKA", then why a TKA can actually kill a red? I thought red means "for 99.9%, you will die".

Why ppl can actually solo a red then? That's just not right also.

If you bring out points like this, I can just fight back with many other points.

And I don't have problems with light blues of course(bring them on! haha), but if 4 dark blue gank on me, I must becareful about it, and that's exactly what the manual says.... "dark blue should be fine, but you need a little work on it, however if it has more than 2 dark blues that gank you, then you are in a little danger". But I dunno, I have 1 white, 3 dark blues gank on me (rebel missions), I do okay, not really that hard.

I actually could killafambaa myself and it's red to me. And you tell me it's okay? Hmm well yeah in some points it's okay coz I don't mind if I am gettin' stronger.

Nah, I'm just used to playing at a more advanced level than yourself, and am very let down by the HAM cost changes. I have no trouble lowering myself to your playing level. Apparently you think it's some complex game mechanic to single pull, apply knockdown until successful, and repeat every 10 seconds. Congrats!

I'm sorry if my title and opening are harsh but after just doing a thorough read of this forum I think most of you need a good hard kick in the arse. TKA's are still totaly usable and fun to play. Granted this is just my opion so let me explain why I say this.

Selwyn seems to be coping a lot of flak for saying she still uses and enjoys her tka char. I agree with her, why is everyone having so much trouble adjusting to this change? Ok, kd costs are up, now i can only solo one red at a time. Thats probably for the best. I've been soloing nyms on lok since the patch with no problems. 3-4k xp a kill and they sometimes drop some VERY interesting loot now. Will let you find it, just don't expect to find many. Some of you tka's who have taken up begging may be intersted to know you can get 16k per mission now if you could manage to get over how badly nerfed you've been.

All thats needed to kill nyms is kd/dizzy. After that i rarely have to apply kd again till the end of the fight when he tries to run off. Most time during the fight the nym spends lying on the ground from the dizzy effect. Non humanoids is a bit harder because the dizzy doesn't effect them as badly, you will need to keep reapplying kd. Just use it very sparingly, you should still have half your ham at the end of a fight with most reds if you play it smart. Just remember, the days of keeping 3 mobs knocked down at the same time are gone.

Pvp post patch is the most fun I've had in this game. Tka's have a high success rate now. My ratio of kills to my own deaths is about 10:1. With the damage reduction we have time to close the distance while taking a few hits. Let me just state quickly that playing tka without some medic skill is like fighting with one hand behind your back. With the reduction in damge done in pvp stimpacks are a very powerful tool now.

As for the getting in range problem, yes it is exceedingly difficult to get in range to pull off a kd. However, it is surprisingly easy to get within lunging range. Two quick lunges hold them in place long enough to close and hit them with kd/dizzy. At that point the fight has been won, you just need to hang around till you finish beating the ham out of him. If he manages to run use your mighty lunge to bring him down again.

On to the question of what a tka could contribute to a big group hunting dark jedi, kimos etc. A tka can still be very usefull group fighting kimo's. Now you know you will be destroyed if you get too close and you only have one decent range attack available. So you can either stand on the sidelines telling everyone how useless you are or you can stay outside it's attack range and keep lunging it. This holds it still and you take no damage, while all your ranged groupmates bring it down without having to run in circles. Now I admit, this gives you no xp, but you will be very usefull to the group. If you want xp leave the group and go solo nyms.

I haven't fought a dark jedi myself but I read selwyn is going out to try shortly so we should get some positive feedback on that soon. I hear dark jedis have high resists to posture change so what works for kimo's might not work on them.

I've gone on enough but suffice it to say tka is still a very viable class. Not to mention combining it with something like medic/ch. There are many ways to play the game and any class will be partly what you make of it.

So to all the people complaining ask youself, is tka really that hard or do you just suck at it?

Um ok, at Selwyn's level of TK she has not encounterd blue whites that cause the problems. TK's don't scale up that well her 0/0/3/0 experince is not indicitive of real world TK experince. (are you even a tk with those stats?)

Teras Kasi are lethal, nearly impossible to knock down or unbalance(Just kidding). Facing an opponent armed with ranged weapons, high-level abilities enable him to evade blaster fire and close quickly(Not really)...

I agree 100%. I don't even bother listening to anything she has to say anymore because I know its not valid.

Most of us just complain because if we aren't broken, we are one of the few classes that aren't. And commandos are being taken out of the "fixed" classes to being "uber" now which will leave us all alone in the "balanced" classes.

I have the hardest time soloing. I can kill more stuff faster and easier with my 0/0/2/2 pistoleer than i can with my 0/4/4/2 tka. I hate unequipping weapons in the middle of fights. I am the only class that needs to do that.

When fighting in a group, the ONLY time i go TKA is to apply the initial dizzy/kd and usually I don't even bother to do that.

I also outdamage TKA's with double tap and stopping shot does twice as much damage. I just don't see the point.

Be careful with the fixing of the weapon experimentation to reduce HAM costs. Because they stated it quite tricky. As of now you are able to experiment the HAM costs on components down to zero but not the final product. So yes, HAM costs can be reduced but I think out of that 120 HAM cost to use ranged knockdowns or pistol whip, you are not going to take it down much farther then that. I think there is a base cost with knockdown that cannot be worked around.

Range has always been more favorable in most MMORPGs (AO included) and based on the way the battle system is in SWG, sadly, range will continue to beat out melee.

Now Iproposed that ranged weapon usage should have alower accuracy then melee and also melee should have more defenses vs. ranged. If there were a combo system incorporated in melee it would alsohelp bridge the gap... but alas, that's a discussion that should be saved for another thread.

The biggest joke about this game is that we even have to rely on KD in the first place instead of natural tanking skills. TKA is still very playable, I am master tka and have played a ton since the patch and honestly the only difference isa few more heals needed and the in ability to handle adds as effectively. The class is far from useless, but my big beef is that well other professions seem to be doing the exact things we do much better then we do (and to the same ends that we did before the nerf). That's the biggest friggen crime of it all. In the end, some HAM adjustments will probably be made to TKA (they would really show thier cluelessness if this didnt happen), but don't expect anything to approach pre-nerf levels ever again. If you can't at least acknowledge the fact that pre nerf KD was even the slightest bit rediculous or over-powered, you're a delusional person.

I didnt see you mention a Vibro Knuckle. Are these numbers your using include this? I hit with your regular auto-attack for 200-300 on everything I hit....any creature, any npc. My unarmed 2 hits in the range of 700-1500 all the time. Granted im not hunting dark jedi but I was getting these numbers with Mauler Masters. I have grouped with commando's, and even my TKA Novice buns gets 80% of the XP on everything we fight. Get a Knuckle, slice it for pool-cost or speed, and power it up with the reverse....(by the way, the numbers above dont include slicing or power-ups) with an attack speed of 2.0 or less, you should be god. Speed is king.

Thanks for the time,

LoL. Unequip a weapon... hahaha!

Lemme ask somethin' here a minute... what was the skill tree you went up in Brawler to get to Teras Kasi? You remember what it was? No? I see it say Unarmed. Yep, not martial arts, karate or fujit-F'n-Huu, it says right there, Unarmed. It doesn't just say it on one of the boxes it says iton all ofthem.

Now, stop *spamming* KD. You'll feel much better. Trust me.

The entire time I've been posting I was never 0/0/3/0.

I am currently 0/2/4/2 -- more than high enough to have insight. By the way, two of those skill levels I quietly got while everyone else was posting about how it was impossible to play TK anymore. My one real life friend who is currently working about two halls down from me, and another real friend working a couple buildings away are both TK masters. I am frequently sitting right beside them while they are playing, hunting, PvEing, PvPing, soloing, grouping, etc. None of us like the changes, but neither are they finding it impossible to play the game, EVEN at the master level.

What you are experiencing is that even at that master level there are certain things that you still CAN'T do. Many of you feel that is a huge problem and represents a flaw in the game. I don't. I'm glad there are creatures in the game that no matter how tough I am I am still going to need help to solo. So we just see it differently. Nothing wrong with that.

Last night I spent the night out hunting with my TK Master friend, who is currently working on master brawler, but doesn't have it yet -- we had a lot of fun. And that's really all I'm saying.

Wow, Grimror is a Teras Kasi Master, so are half they other people posting on these boards saying that TK has problems but is far from unplayable at high levels. So I guess the "you're not a TKM so you don't know" defense is getting pretty weak.
