Hi Eslaweu. I was there with you on the hunt. As a fellow TKA i was aboslutely useless there.

However I was thinking, if you are a TKA in need of basic Combat XP, just pull out a rifle and stand back. You won't get unarmed XP but at least you'll get combat XP.

I'm not trolling...I'm a friend of the original poster and considering switching from Pistoleer to TKA.

At any rate...whoever said a BH or Pistoleer could solo a Krayt is WAY off.

Scenario: Master Pistoleer sees Krayt...Fires at Krayt...insta dies.

The only people out there soloing Krayts are people with AT-ST's to do it for them.

Even one Master Pistoleer/Master Creature Handler with two Graul Maulers would only put a dent in the Krayt. As soon as the Grauls went incap, it would be one hit kill for the Krayt.

Krayts are a group mob, unless you have AT-ST's and personally I think the AT-ST's role in PvE should be nerfed.

Ok...why..I mean...why do you think we should be able to tank something as big and powerful as a kryat dragon? Those are probably among the hardest creatures in the game. You are not a TANK per se, you are someone who canwitstandlots of damage in melee fight, but that doesnt mean you can take any damage from every creature just as fine. The purpose for those big monsters are for groups to hunt them in large groups and with ranged weapons...its common sense. I mean there are ways to actually hit kryat dragons in melee range, but not TANK them.

I think TKA should be able to do some damage against a Krayt Dragon. That's why he/she should be able to take some damagefrom a Krayt Dragon.

lol , a single atst can solo a krayt dragon, i have dont it many many times. and its not because i was any help with my scout balster and novice marksmen pistol 3 !! yay me . its just stupid about the atst. but no i feel that no one in the game should be able to solo a krayt, i dont even care i we gather 20 tka masters, we are still punching a freaken dragon that is more that 100 time our size, some things i think still have to be left to the gun weilding manics.

It all depends on the perspective one sees thing. Im not saying that anyone should be able to solo a kryat but everyone no matte what profesion should be able to hold his own if at master leve. This is the Star wars Universe after all. An imagianry Universe.

Perhaps the idea of soloing a kryat comes from movies, books and comics. I remember a comic in wich an exiled jedi (cant remember name) organices the tuskens and organizes military raids against what he considers are evil doers in tatooine. The initiation rights for this tuskens (he makes his son who is not really a jedi for not being trained in the jedi academy in corusant) is fighting a Kryat (dont think it was a fully mature one but the thing was still huge) without any help at all. The tusken group was rather big so I guess it was not imposible to kill kryat. Bare in mind that the fights were with melee weapons.

For game purposes I understand that no one should be able to solo a kryat, it would make players to powerfull. I just think that everyone should be able to join in the fun without being killed in 3 seconds.

So does this mean we are compleatly useless when hunting big game?

Certainly not, we went to Endor last night for a hunt on TC. The Teras Kasi's seemed to be just as effective as the ranged players. Long as the pets keep the aggro off you you do just fine. My only problem is I run out of mind a lot. But I think that's just from the HAM cost from the VKs. I need to learn not to use specials to often, but the animations look so cool it's hard not to, right?

I hit for 250-320 points of damage or so every 2 seconds. 600-1200 on unarmedhit2. So TKA's definetly aren't useless on big hunts. Plus I can stun, dizzy, blind, indimidate and lower posture, with all four stat modifiers applied to the MOB it can greately reduce its effectiveness, and with armor applied you will take next to no damage from the MOB. Lower posture also seems to take a round of combat away from them while it lowers their posture. The only problem is it has a huge HAM cost. That's just with Teras Kasi Novice with Power Techniques I and Precision Striking I.

I'm anxious to see what I can do as I progress through Power Techniques and Meditate. Once I get to at least level 2 on all the TKA sub-skills I'll post a pre-review on what I think of TKA. So far I'm loving it. I'm having a lot more fun than I did with Carbineer or Pistoleer.

What would people say to a special/ability that helps a TKA ( or any brawler, for that matter) to help _lose_ aggro? The easiest way to do damage is to not be dead. The easiest way to not be dead is to not have aggro. Coming from the EQ school of thought, think of rogues evade or monks feign death.
