/salute To anyone who plays this game without doc buffs. It is some much more fun, playing while not buffed and only using like chitin or mabari armor with low ham values.

So I was just out on dath, and dispite the fact I might lose xp cause I'm a jedi I decided to see what I could kill. Now at this time I had no buffs and no armor, and to my delite I was able to kill an Enraged Bull Rancor. Probably could have killed something higher but dath doesn't have many wild. Anyhow I'm look to see how many of you TKMs out there have the skill to kill high end mobs with no buffs or armor.
And feel free to lay out your input in a dramatic story if you really wanna make yourself look good

You see this is the kind of post that I find disturbing. Why would a CU and armor nerf be more enjoyable to you if that is how you already play? It really should not affect your game play at all. Unless you are one of the many, many game nazis who believe there is only one way to play the game and everyone else is a lame noob.

I fight un-buffed and unarmored most of the time, rancors, low level nightsisters, etc. I only use food if I know I'm heading after something tough, or if there's a chance I'll pull too many to handle at one time. It puts the danger back into the game. Finding a rancor lair and stalking around it finding the ones that are farthest from the rest of the lair and dropping them one at a time. Makes one feel like an actual predator instead of a machine wading in and fighting anything with no chance of death or skill, just spamming one button.

I can't fight with out buffs, no medic... I'm desined for buffs
sorry, then you never learned how to fight as a TK
TKM's need buffs for onlythese occassions:
Overt PvP
Phase 4
Nightsister Elders
DWB
Vette
if youare TKM and feel "destined" forbuffsyou don't know how to play the profession, IMO

Question about fighting unbuffed. What do you have your stats set too and what foods besides brandy are good to use?

I generally max my mind secondaries then as much of health and action as poss
And yep, I've also had some fantastic encounters with creatures that I couldn't believe I was able to kill without buffs... and I don't have the meditation tree
TKA is a most awesome profession - it's a lot of fun to try and push the boundaries by making things difficult for yourself

QFE
And to answer a prior post....Breath of Heaven for short confrontations (duels and for high-end MOB's that that you come across and say to yourself "Eh, i think I can take 'em ") and Ahrisa should be in your system at all times in the wilderness...
And since im Dosh I typically have a long duration Accaragram (however it's called...the Action HAM boost) in me at all times in the wilderness too just to get my secondary Action pools over 500

My stat migration as a Trandoshan is...
HEALTH: 700
STRENGTH: 600
CONSTITUTION: 700
ACTION: 800
QUICKNESS: 450
STAMINA: 400
MIND: 1000
FOCUS: 450
WILLPOWER: 450
A few notes...
With a Trandoshan we're limited in how low our Health substats can go and how high our Action substats can go. What you see above is the minimum for Health substats and maximum for Action substats. Thus I also reduced my actual Health pool (since it goes down slow and regens fast) and have more in my Action pool.
(Action is *CRUCIAL* to a TKA, forget all the garbage you hear about how important Mind substats are, our specials use the same amount of Health and Mind but half again as much Action. Mind substats are only important for healers, because healers can't heal Mind and actually use Mind for their abilities. Such is not the case for a TKA, we can even heal Mind wounds.)
I also maxed out the Mind pool itself, which all TKAs should do. The higher the Mind pool, the more you can Powerboost, and any points placed into Health and Action (the pools, not substats mind you) are wasted. I can explain the mathematical reasons for this if you like but it should be obvious why.
Mind substats are ok but not extremely high because they don't really need to be.
Now, when I eat food I use Gruuvan Shal which only improves the Strength stat, this is because with Strength and Constitution so high already my Health stats don't need much of a buff. It also leaves plenty of room for Aircake, Synthsteak, or Burnout Sauce, whatever I feel like. I drink Accaragm and Brandy, both of which when taken together massively improve all Action and Mind substats and the pools, but max out the drink meter. Gruuvan Shal, Brandy, and Accaragm all can last around 40 minutes which means by the time they wear off your food/drink meters will be cleared out (or almost cleared out), leaving little to no downtime.
My stats are designed specifically to eliminate the need for buffs, though for really tough PvE and of course for any PvP I still go for buffs.
