Put simply what they're doing is preventing the ability to use the knockdown/warcry combo which can be used to indefinently hold down an opponent. Think of it like this. Someone with master brawler can stop someone for 20 seconds, all they need to do is knock them down, wait a second and then use warcry. This means the enemy hasn't be able to attack for 21 seconds. Once Warcry wears off it takes them around 3 seconds to stand up, once they are one either feet there's a 1-2 second delay before they attack. If you use lunge this delays them for another 3-4 seconds. So now a total of 30 seconds have passed since the knockdown was used and the enemy has yet to hit you even once. Know you can knock them down and repeat the process.
It's that kind of invincibility they are removing because this allows you to solo mobs which are far more powerful than you should be able to, like i said recently someone at novice TK is able to kill mobs that are around CL30. Now at 1/1/1/1 I'm starting to solo CL40 mobs and if I had master brawler I could easily solo things even more powerful again.
What they're doing is actually removing this raw one on one fighting power and changing it to allow melee professions to deal more with groups of enemies. So they have nerf'd us with one hand and empowered us with another. On the whole I have to say I do like this change, as a TKA I do struggle with groups if they are white or yellow cons because I have no way to survive their attacks and deal with them all. The new way warcry works allows me to head into a group of enemies and know that I can focus on one of them while the other stand back and do nothing. Within 10 seconds you can easily kill around 2 white cons and around 1 yellow con at 1/1/1/1. Since you can use warcry right away afterwards you can hold groups of enemies at bay for as long as your health bar holds out which is different than the KD/Warcry tactic which gave someone ample time to recover the health through normal regeneration.
One thing that does concern me is that this is weakening us as a tank in the front line for groups, in that situation being surrounded isn't as big a problem as you might think since you will normally only be focussing on one opponent. I guess in the end we'll have to see what the new HAM costs are like and what new abilities they're going to give us.
