the still drop 2, 5, 7, 9, 11 scales at a time.
Drop rate isn't attroticous - ill get 5 to 11 scales almost every time i go out and hunt them. I make 1.2mill per scale.

I just solo'd a GDK this morning...it wasn't that hard. I was buffed, had a brandy or 2 in me, powerboosted, and kept Mind-hitting it. Every 20 seconds my Intimidate-Stun-KD macro would set in and land at least Intimidate. It only took me 20 min or so. It was even kind enough to give me 8 scales that I'm auctioning this very minute on the Wanderhome Trade forum. The only downer was I had to meditate after I was done because it diseased me and I was only curing the poison.
I'm a Master TK, Master DOC and I did it...so can you.

this shouldnt be possibe it shows how messed up the game is when people can single handedly kill a giant dragon somthing like a kimo should take at least 7-10 people considering the size of the thing.

I've solo'd one as a master swordsman but u need to get the extra buffs to stop yourself getting poisoned (or is it diseased?), as TKM it is a no go.
But whoever said that you should not be able to solo them and it should take 7-10 people is right on the money. Before soloing one I took part in a group attack with 6 of my guild buddies and that was soooo much more fun. I was only partially through the sword tree and so need the help, but it was the cameraderie that made the kill so much more fun.
Hopefully the combat upgrade will create a situation where you need to hunt big creature like GDK's in big groups, rancors in at least a group of 2-3 and also make a squad of stormtroopers or rebel comandos work something. With the right prep-work you can kill these squads with master marksman or brawler and that just isn't right.

like takia said above. get flame4 tkm and i got pistoler 0/0/4/0 for defenses and some medic and works graet in pvp and pve.against ginat dune kimos,i just take 2 brandy,ful mind bufs and regular bufs,and a muon incase(wchih i never use) and stack flamesingle2 flamesingle1 flaminecone1 and intiminates whcih kills it in about 5 minutse or less
