I studied Shotokan Karate when I was younger but didn't really enjoy it.
I took on Shaolin Kung Fu when I was older and loved it. I wish I never left. I was particularly fond of White Crane style, though we were also taught Long Fist.
I'm proud that my grandmaster (my teacher's teacher) is Yang Jwing-Ming, probably the US's #1 authority on Shaolin.

I have some familiarity with (but no formal training in) kendo and Ishin-Ryu Iaido. Being self-trained I'm not as good as someone with formal training, but still good enough to be quite deadly with a sword.

I started with Kendo and studied for about 12 yrs earning my 1st black belt. Somewhere in the middle of that I started taking Shorin-ryu (Shoshin Nagamine), earning black belt in about 5 yrs. I took Kodokan Judo after that for a bit and took Tae Kwon Do with a friend of mine, who now runs a very successful dojo witharound 40 students.
Every school I started with was very small and located in small towns. They were very traditional and we stressed philosophy and mental conditioning over "trophy matches". I've been very lucky in finding good teachers.

Wing Chun, Aikido, Muay Thai, Iaido
Really fond of Aikido and Iaido. I've been studying for a total of about 20 years. Tho recently I've gotten rather lazy and out of shape since I left the military.

great list guys... good to see some people studying some of the more "exotic" arts
I would love to try Capoeira, but my body type isn't good for that (hehe)
Krav Maga is a great style for military and police all over the world
And I envy all of you who have trained in Aikido and Iaido, I haven't been anywhere with a qualified trainer yet....

I only studied Iaido while living in Japan. I haven't found an instructor near me here in TN.
