Thread: Ok TKM’S put your egos to the side and tell us your story of getting totally owned in pvp.
Ok TKM’s here me out.
The nerf herder’s cometh. Their main complaint… we own in PvP… (That’s the main thing I keep hearing anyway…)
Well, after a few replies in a recent nerf herder post, I posted a rather embarrassing story of how I, a godly TKM, got crushed in a PvP encounter… and a thought hit me…(doesn’t happen often so I had to run with it…)
Why not ask the TKM of the world to share their stories of totally ownage… (As in, WE the TKM’s, get owned..) Lets show the nerf herders that we can suck just as bad as anyone else, despite our TKM skills..
I’ll Start. (a repost of my first story, with more detail. If you nice, I may tell you more… I have plenty of stories to tell… I rather suck a PvP as it stands right now… but I’m getting better and better as I learn for loss after loss…) anyway..
One day, about a day or so after reaching TKM, I was feeling rather uber… I had started buying into the TKM = Combat gods crap… and a human pistoller was requesting friendly duals while we wait on the blasted shuttle….
I think to myself… why not? I am after all a tka… all I got to do is close the distance quickly, knock her down, and the fights mine… cake.
Lesson / mistake one. Over confidence will get you killed…
She takes me up on my challenge… and even goes so far as to feed my ego…"just go easy on me and remember no DB’s… I suck at melee duals…"
What a load. Lesson / mistake two… if you’ve never been played in RL, it kind of goes something like this…oh I’ve never played this game before…(be it pool or poker.) I hope I learn something from you ect ect… you get my point… don’t buy into someone’s self-proclaimed suckyness… they could be lulling you into a false since of security.
We get ready to start the dual… I get in close, assuming that a pistoller has to put some distance between me and her to be truly effective… oddly enough she’s not backing up… noob.. LOL.
Lesson / mistake 3… assumption. I assumed she was ONLY a pistoller… after all that’s what her tag said… and she is holding a gun…
Dual Starts… I miss my first war cry… by the time I go for a second war cry, I’m out like a light?!?!?!?!?
Here’s what happened… I learned this be reviewing my combat log…(do it, you’d be surprised what you learn. Consider that lesson 4.)
Her fist move… kick to the nutz… (Low blow… what, that’s not a pistoller move!!!) No wonder she didn’t back up… lol. Move two. Melee wipe 2…(don’t know why she did it.. but it hurt… never dreamed I needed to be out of HER melee range….) Last move stopping shot… game over. Even with my PB and over a 1k HAM in Health, and action… and nearly 2k in mind… plus all my tkm godliness I lay on the ground in lump.
Whole fight took maybe 5 seconds… I’m assuming with the speed of execution she used a combat macro. (it was over so fast I figured she one shot killed me… or INSTA KILL, if you will… but after reviewing the log… it was really 3 shots… not one… it just happened so FAST it looked like one shot…)
Lesson 5… know your moves.. know your combos… and make macros… they help a lot. Or at the very lest know your keyboard… I lost a fight once cause I hit lay prone instead of burst run…. Yeah I felt like such a noob… but I moved my keys around a little and haven’t done that again… YET. lol… of course… I’m still known to spam the wrong attack key…"what do you mean I can’t do this attack hit this weapon…*looks at shortcut keys bar* CRAP left it in on my fencer bar again better hurr… darn dead again…."
Don’t let it happen to you… KNOW YOUR KEY BOARD. lol)
See… a so-called tkm god wiped to the curb by a better player… happens all the time…

Hech everytime I go against someone with a special pistol,rifle or flamer and they can stay outside my radius I am own.
Its like real life for martial artist; we get our hands on you we win, and if we do not you we lose.
I cant tell you how many times ive been own'd but i can tell you how mostly...Unbuffed unarmored FlameSingle, KD/Dizzy*100000000000000000000000000000 is the leading cause since im hologrinding and rely on tkm' pultry state defenses, Kiting(but i dont allow myself to get kited much, knowing how not to get kited is 3/4 the battle 
), Missing if you can believe it to munchkins with 201 melee defense, 14 people all trained on you knowing what you can do if they dont, charged shot when the carbineer has a buddy, did i mention KD/dizzy, oh and Kd/dizzy...i know im missing something oh yeah KD/Dizzy...i recommend fencer since its less points to attain than pistoleer.

1) Commando uses flame (nuff said)
2) Fighting a guy with doc buffs and very good composite, being a master brawler I used warcry2, then kd (no dizzy) and then unleashed my fury, after the delay ended he lost about 1/10 of his ham and I was almost dead from my specials, he shot me, I got incapped.

I get beat everytime by any ranged user that has terrain nav, a hill, and knows how to run away from me. But to think of someone that just constantly spanks me.. theres this CM on my server has like the probaly best poisons I have seen always gets me. I dont think I have ever beat her 1/1 even if the odds were in my favor with her in a building.
By the time I reached the door to the cantina, they were on their way out, and I don't think I got even one hit in. Before I knew it I was dizzied and KD'd (I have to admit, it does suck to be on the recieving end of this combo, and we have almost no defense against it) and the pistoleer proceeded to spam stopping shot while I whimpered helplessly on the ground. Even the local Rebels were laughing at me.
I died and cloned, PB'ed again, and went overt. The TKM and the Pistoleer had shuttled out already, but I managed to get a KD on the commando before he could. Unfortunately my dizzy didn't stick, and I got flamed to death pretty quick.
Later on the TKM showed back up, and we decided to duel. He beat me bad, but I think I could have won if I hadn't kept accidentally hitting my armor macro instead of my special keys.
I've been killed more than times than I would care to share really. *cough* Las, Huntin, Masta*cough*
Open Space + Range User = TKA Death. Like previous poster said, get KineticResist Armor and its over.Its that simple. It really gets under my skin when range people complian bout ANY melee person whom they get killed by. "...too much damage" or "..I cant do that move..." etc... you get the idea. If you dont stand there , like many ranged people do and to this day I don't understand why, you should be fine. Thisapplies to fighting any melee prof.The reason a lot of ranged users are not complaining is that they understand weaknesses and know how to exploit them to their fullest advantage. Thats what all combat professions should do, but some people just think b/c they spent more skill points you shouldn't be able to kill them so easily.
Sorry for the rant, but thats how I see it.
