Eventualy TKA's are going to get the nerf bat. So I was thinking about our lack of weapons and how the devs could improve it by adding more weapons. Well, razor knucks are comming but thats realy not much. What if a new power was implmented to add special damage type's to our attacks.
What if when meditating you could choose a damage type. And if you were unarmed (no vibro's which means no AP) you would inflict that damage type. This process would only last like 1 min for every 10 mediation points you have. So you could choose a damage type as master for 10 mins.
Perhaps have 5 types of damage to choose from. Maybe one for novice I dono.
Heat - Meditative Techniques I
Cold- Meditative Techniques II
Energy - Meditative Techniques III
Acid - Meditative Techniques IV
Stun- Master TKA
Tell me what you think.
It is a good idea, IF you're talking about Jedi (the devs would drop this power to Jedi long before TKAs). TKA is UNARMED combat, VKs shouldn't even be usable.
That's just my opinion!

Dev's have stated straight up that TKA only get 1 damage type because of all the other perks the profession has. Meditate is a tremendous advantage. It heals all your wounds, cures every disease and poison in the game, and can self buff with PowerBoost. We can beat the heck outta things with our bare-fists.
In order to get new weapons and more damage types, we'd have to sacrifice something for that to happen. Being restricted to only Kinetic and AP1 I believe is a fair trade off for the tremendous upsides to our profession.

I think the only time the DEVs would do this is after they nerf meditate. I personally think that TKA is good the way it is. Even though we do only one type of damage and have no DoT attacks, we do have perks like meditate and power boost. Besides, how would we inflict heat, cold or acid attack with our bare hands? Though they could give us power-ups for VKs

interesting idea, but not feasible
why do you want weapons in the UNARMED profession anyway?
we should only have about 2 damage types, and I feel that they should replace the pool hitting moves.
if what I hear about the weapon/armor rebalance is true, then resistances will not exceed 60% on player armor.
We won't need additional damage types then, because we will be able to do damage in pvp with only kinetic.

What i am saying about the nerf for those who say its not goign to happen, in one way or another we are going to be nerfed by either making mobs harder or lower our damage. But were not going to be able to solo almost every mob in this game forever. Sooner or later we are getting a hit on our side.

YES now understand the combat revram may do somthing bad to us. I personaly Hope all professions move up to the TKA standard. However I think they are going to nerf everything down to the damage per second range of a pistoleer. Thats just my opnion.
meditate does rock, but if they nerf TKA dmage wise the only reasont o have TKA will be to have the powers of meditate. And I think it would still be fair to have a wide arange of weapon damage types with 0 AP. Plus this would also keep TKA's unarmed.

Definitely don't need any new weapons, sometimes I think a knuckler is too much...

I dont understand, do you think having the ability to change damage type would be a good thing or a bad thing
Or is that to the statment about adding new weapons instead of this power....

Really interesting idea...not sure about the amount of damage types. It should keep in line with the average number per profession if it were to be implemented, so based on other melee it should be about...two? I think as a swordsman/pikeman/fencer you only have two damage types.

Different types of damage on PU's would be a little too much in my eyes, weapons are made with a certain type of damage for a reaosn. The Razor Knucklers are coming in soon which would even things out, since itmakes all the melee proffesions have two types of damage types except pikeman who have three with their energy lances which arent common. Anything else besides that would be unfair i think.
