TKM of almost a year here It's sad to see that the very class that was redone and designed to be the best tank in the game, may very well be wiped clean from existance.

I will sorely miss TKM. I am a Martial Artist in RL myself, and to loose a profession that I hold so close to the heart, hurts. If there is anything we can do Mankind, please let us know. Untill then, stay strong my brothers and sisters...There may be light at the end of the tunnel...

I just wanted to add to the post as well. Teras Kasi has been the only profession in the game since I started in August 2004 that has stayed in my template through thick and thin and I think it is really disturbing to me that I'm being forced to rely on ranged tactics in order to survive in the new system that is being pushed out. For all the Teras Kasis out there that have a true appreciation for the profession, while the new changes can be exciting, this is a big loss for us in the grand scheme of the game.

Well its sad to see my favorite profession go away. Originally when I started the game back in 03 I went Commando/Smuggler. I then dropped smuggler for TKM. After being a TKM for almost 20 publishes of this game I will sorely miss it. I have changed my template more times than I can count but have never dropped TK since that first mastery of it long ago. I hope one of these new iconic classes incorporates TK into it.Wouldnt mind if the new commando resembles the TKM/MC template that I had at one point. That was alot of fun. I never have been one to post alot in the forums but recently I have felt the need to more and more, saying goodbye to what IMO was the most fun prof this game will ever have is definatly one of those time where I felt the need.

Also Mankind thanks for all the time and effort you have put into being TK Correspondent.

I remember TKM being one of the best professions in game pre cu. Cool combat animations, wicked skills liike power boost and meditate. it was just a fun profession to play.

I can't believe this is happening... It's like a bad dream.

Hey buddy, just wanted to pop my head in and say hi. Kinda sad in a lot of ways. Want you to know that when we were "alpha-testing" back in the day you did a great job for this community. The support you were giving us through that B.... Process and the fact that TK meant a lot to you. Not sure how many us are still left out of that original 6, but I'm still here.

Vegitaa was Teras Kasi Master since about 1.5 months after launch and to this day still holds 4000 Teras Kasi (the rest is Jedi), I couldn't bare to drop my Meditation Animation.. lol!

I'm going to miss it as a discipline, as a profession, and most importantly as a way of life for my character. You did us proud many times. Sorry to see things go this way but we've lived through so many nerfs/patches/publishes/changes/expansions.... we'll make it through this one too. In the meantime, I'm just gonna hang back and let the younger vet's fight it out on test center "Alpha" sucked that out of me ages ago.

Keep fighting the good fight mate.

Having read through the bile, abuse and anger on the nge discussion forum this morning whilst trying to get my daughter to sleep, it seems the jedi class (force sensetive at the beginning) start using unarmed, and knucklers.

Looking through, it also seems command and smuggler (as they do now) have options for melee / unarmed combat too.

Not perfect, but something to look into.

certainly not as bad as CH and BE.

Oh, and spare a thought for Mankind, yesterday was his birthday, not a nice present for him.

Theres options for all all combat proffesions to play melee still. Though things may sound ranged, it's really neither one nor the other, it's what you want to be (though there would be certain advatages to both sides).

It is possible that TKA will remain as part of the game in some way. I haven't played with the new changes but from what is written above, I gather that there are some basic melee attacks in some of the new classes. It is likely that most of these are nothing like the TKA you know and love.

However, there are a lot fewer actual attacks with the new system, a lot of the current animations will be unused. It would be quite cool if there was a TKA quest you could go on, where the reward is not a new weapon or anything like that, but the ability to change the melee animations to more TKA looking ones and the ability to play a meditate animation (even if it doesn't actually do anything). It would make the path to being a TKA an excitingjourney that could personalise your character.

Just an idea for you to suggest Mank, hope you like it Maybe the ways of the Teras Kasi Artist can live on if the current system doesn't allow it.

I've played the NGE for a bit and realized one thing...if you want to stay a melee powerhouse, go Jedi. Jedi has absorbed all of the TKM signature components such as center of being ad meditation. While the specials seem to surround the use of a lightsaber, your first weapon as a jedi is actually a force knuckler.

Yeah, everyone can get into fist-fighting mode, but no one will be good with bare fists. At all. And the idea of innate armor seems to be gone since Jedi is the only class without armor certs and they get fancy robes.

I'm saddened. I've been a TKM since 3 months post-launch. Now I'm pondering BH, Officer, or Smuggler...spy is just too much of a thief class for me.
