Once you get to master, and start spamming uh3 and headhit, you'll wanna drop those vk's though. And armor, well.. your unarmed toughness at master is 62% or so.

Basically, a tka is "unarmed', uses his bare fists, and doesn't wear armor.. it's that simple. Not saying you shouldn't wear armor for RP purposes, but it's something to consider

Also, the armor might protect you, but it also creates much much ham drainage, so in the end its just not worth it.

I don't wear armor because there's no point to wear it. For me at least. The HAM costs are unbelievable and it doesn't fit the image of a martial artist like Selwynn said.

For RP's sake. It tires me out very quickly because of its encumberance. It's bulky. Both factors limit my range, speed and flexibility. I may want to dodge an oncoming blow. I'd rather not feel like I'm encased in lead while fighting.

Also on the topic of HAM...I rarely use my vks any more if ever again. I don't need anything to drain my HAM when I have other moves to use on a target. It's more effective to rely on your speed and the different skills you learned than to rely on things that provide better damage and speed, but drains you like nothing else.

why dont any of you wear armor?

simple answer - don't "need" it....

You can be an effective fighter without it. However,it can be used to your benefit in certain situations.

I wore armor in the beginning when I was a little TKA. eventually you will take off the armor, remove the vk's and find you are effective, possibly even moreso than with all the extra stuff. to answer your second question, yes, powerboost is freaking awesome. I have base HAM of 1k on everything, 1500 when boosted. I can use Muon before and my Ham will be 1750/1750/2250. having mind that high is incredibly cool for a doc like me, because it doesn't matter what your health and acction are, so long as your mind is there, you can fight. when I get buffs, my HAM costs wil go down to next to nothing even with vk's and armor, but I prefer not to wear it. I look like everybody else. I like to be unique, and with powerboost I can be effective and unique at the same time.

We do not wear armor because we are TKA. Enough said!

For me:

1. It's oftenmore challenging without armor.

2. It's more impressive whenyou DB a ranged character wearing 90% Kinetic resist Composite.

3. I don't fear death - why anyone but someone playing an FS character would is beyond me.

4. I really like the red streaky thingees and the special attack animations, and I can throw those all day long when I don't wear armor or use VKs.

I don't wear armor because the HAM cost are way too high and once again in the role-playing aspect of my character I think it's cooler to see him out there with just clothes on beating someone to a pulp that a full suit of armor. We are supposed to be Martial Artists not Samurai.

On the other hand I do have some enhanced clothes that give me +4 melee defense and +15 defense against stun.

I use a personal shield gnerator in a pinch but generally don't wear armor, both for rp reasons as well as sheer aesthetics - I hate the armor look.

Here is an ideal situation for someone to use armor and a vibroknuckler. You're fighting a high endopponent who has a rediculous amount of resists and HAM and a damage output that would make you piss your pants if you were a rifleman.Hit center of being and then berserk, slap on your armor and vk (and whenI say slap I mean have amacro that will equip all of these in the stroke of a button)and you will see why having 80% kinetic armor with a high damage armor piercing weapon is a good idea.

In PvP terms, i never fight without my armor on(don't even try to regen with it on). And if you're fighting some dude who thinks he's hot **edit** too because he's got on composite , KD him and then slap on your VK for hits that will go right through his armor with even more increased damage. Vk's make a fight end fast which is the point of them. You might lose some HAM but with the new changes on test this will change soon. KD + head hit + head hit + head hit = ~100 second incap.

Isn't the 62% unarmed toughness only if your a master brawler? I haven't looked at my ranking on toughness lately, but last I checked it was 57% at master. Master brawlers adds +5 for that nifty 62 score, or am I missing something?

Idon't wear armor because I roleplay a Teras Kasi Monk and not a bounty hunter or commando - it just doesn't seem right (but thats just me). Secondly, like someone said,I like to throw fancy specials all day - the same reasonI have not owned a VK since becomming a master(they kill me faster than any opponent could), thirdly, I don't really need it as a doctor who buffs, and boosts before each battle (i'm buffed almost 24/7), and finally all my "normal" clothes have four sockets each filled with bio-engineered crap - much more valuable to me than armor.
