Anyhow, I think you (TKA) have a disadvantage in regard to attracting nerfers for a couple of reasons:
- TKA is a whole character rolled into one. You have Medic and Doctor "abilities" in the Meditate line. You have high-speed damage at a very low (or non-existent) weapons cost. Please note, I don't think there's anything wrong with any of that. That's what your class is about. Nerfers aren't concerned with things like class differentiation and such. They're generally upset that they got, in their vernacular, "pwned" or are jealous that you get nifty abilities.
- TKA is easier (from a skill point view) to dabble in or pursue as a supporting profession. Check out the Brawler tree. Look at the profession titles above each column. Polearm gives you a choice of Pikeman and ... Pikeman. 2-hand gives Swordsman. 1-hand gives Fencer. The only reason to ever pick up a melee weapon is to pursue the elite class for that weapon (or Master Brawler). On the other hand, Unarmed gives Smuggler, Commando and of course, TKA. Smuggler and Commando have both been (in the past) havens for the "leet" PvP crowd. This makes it easy for the trash-talking "i m 00ber!" set to wander into your profession, annoying everyone else non-stop and making you look bad.
- All melee professions have a coolness factor, but each has a different kind. Fencers have a detatched and quiet kind of style, one that generally seems to separate the Flavor of the Month set from the legitimate Fencers. Swordsmen have a smashmouth style (they'd be serious nerf candidates if they became FotM). Pikemen have ... well, a masochistic style. TKA has martial arts and a generally Eastern style. Unfortunately for your profession, this style is very attractive to the sorts of people who "rulz u all!!!!"

I don't get why people are scarred of a TKA so much. I think they just sux and don't know how to defeat one. When i was just a master rifle i would slaughter them. You just gotta stay about 30m away and fight in open terrain if you wanna take on a tka in a cantina or a place like that you are retarted and should die.
TKM is the last proffession that should be nerfed next to pike...and btw, fencer is flavor of the month because it is god...its the eyeshot phenominon all over again...(i.e. spam scatter hit and obliterate). If you fellow tk want to enter a world of pain, try a blademaster, then you will know my frustration as you are eaten alive by scatter hit and the lvl 1 weapon which is by far the best, the gaffi stick...you will also know why fencer is "flavor of the month" and why fencer needs to be nerfed.
