About Advanced Combo


If you watch the Combat Spam you wil see something like



xxx hit for 293 kinetic yyy armor absorbed 20 out of a possible 999 damage


(This is paraphrased.)



So if you stack it with Melee Hit/Strike you get the auto attacks dmg and a little bonus damage since ADV Combo is slow to recharge.

I did a little playing around with advanced combo tonight (on TC, so your results with live code may vary). I turned autoattack off, and taunted a level 82 Dwarf Eopie while barehanded. Mousing over the Health, it started with 7910. First, I start off with Improved Critical Strike, which hits for 704 points (618/1323 absorbed). Mouseover the health bar shows the Eopie's now at 7206 health, which matches up with the Combat Spam. Next, Advanced Combo Attack. Combat Spam says 195 points of damage, with 513/1102 absorbed. Mouseover health shows 6610. 1102 - 513 is 589. 7206 - 6610 is 596. Regeneration on the Eopie's may account for the discrepancy between the two, although the numbers seem a little backwards. I repeated the experiment many times, and every time combo was hitting for the remainder of what it showed absorbed, not the stated amount of damage. So Advanced Combo appears to be working; it's the combat spam that's broken.

Just for reference, I tried Advanced Combo as my first attack on a fresh mutant womp rat. The womp rat started with 7473 Health. Combat spam showed a hit for 197 points, 531/1125 absorbed. Health on the rat went down to 6881. Absorption data shows 594 damage, health numbers show 592, which is within the error range of regeneration, and about the same as the damage in the trials when the attack followed Critical Hit.

There is nothing wrong with the damage that Combo Attack does, it's simply the combat chat log that has a bug in displaying the actual amount. In my tests (and I see phijawrioconfirmed this) the chat log displays exactly 1/3 of the actual damage, which in my opinion isbecause once upon a timethis attack was meant to hit 3 pools, whereas now we only have 1 pool left.

Yes, testing advanced combo on a lair the actual damage is higher than the reported damage.
