TK is not certified to wear any armor unless you have a second class that has an armor cert. As posted MTK has innate armor +60=6000 resists on all. So far the best non crafted Battle/Assault armor I have seen is the Katarn Armor at like 5300 resists...MTK still better..

True, but unless he is certified for the armor he can't wear it anyways. Personally if I had RIS armor like that I would keep it in case I ever needed for another melee or combat class.

That stuff can't be easy to come by nowdays can it?

Thanks. I will find me a new cool set of clothes to wear. And the armor I got, I will just have to sell it.
RIS armor helmet with 6500 protect and +4 to General melee, Two handed and Unarmed acc.. lol
Glad I didn't get the whole set. I know this helmet is better than initiate TKA armor, but the rest of what I got was 5700-5900. Also with nice attachments.

Ummm.....the RIS armour looks better then any clothing IMO, and with the skill mods, it will probibly be better

Rantmallory - couple of things for your GF:

  • Make sure she is using Center of Being. This is the 2nd best thing about TKA (ok maybe the first). It's imperitive that CoB be running or you will go down pretty fast. There are a number of threads about macro's for CoB but my opinion is you do an alarm CoB macro and manually click it as it's about to run out.

  • Make sure no other armor is on her. As mentioned above ANY armor will negate the Innate armor.

  • Is she a MTK? You don't get full Innate armor until you hit Master - not sure what the % is as you progress.......

  • I personally believe that TK requires a healing class of some sort to be the most effective. If you're going full damage then double up on Sword/Pike/Fencer etc. and just get enough TK for CoB. If you want to tank - you need some healing ability. I prefer Doc level but some think Medic is sufficient.

Hope that helps.

I agree. I went TKM for the innate armor with +345 unarmed damage and I have almost no complaints. (Except: What's the deal about armor break on innate armor?) I am now going for Master Swordsman for damage dealing. By then, I should be a least a Novice Doctor since I have 4-2-4-0 in Medic right now. I remeber I was taking a lot of damage and then noticed that I had gloves equipped. These gloves somehow counted as armor because I unequipped them and my damage mitigation was great. Against a CL82 Bol, I was taking 145 to 150 in damage without CoB running being a CL62 myself. With CoB running, I was taking 83 to 93 in damage. Still, the armor break on innate armor seems a little strange but we use it on mobs all of the time and they don't complain; yet.
