Thread: Worth having armor on or not?

From the day I finished my template and have capped melee and ranged defs plus some 62% melee absorption I rarely use armor or buffs for anything less than 32k-36k missions or PvP. I can easily solo 10k mobs but if there are more than 2 i have to wear a chest or run :/

PSGs are also good to turn on if you just want to explore and be safe rather than tank something where your PSG would be eaten in seconds.

I guess it just depends on your playstyle. I always have a full suit of comp with me. I just feel safer like that. I guess that comes from my TC character being a BH hehe.

Ok I wont say I am "the end all and be all" of TKM... but I have mastered it on 3 servers a total of 5 times... why? Because it was one of the best fighting styles out. I will tell you this.. I NEVER (and I meant NEVER) wore armor.... A rancor ??? 4 seconds to kill a normal (10 for a bull)...and your MEANT to hunt force sensitives like night sisters so why wear armor.... There were a few npc's I wouldn't go near alone & unarmored now ... (Night sister elders & Peko albatrosses & that really nutty dark sith dude (90% special against Kenitic& rediculous HAM). I wear armor at times now (because it helps when I am just a tank). But if you are fighting NPC's go armor less (less stress on your stats) grab some good bio clothes & some good foods ie. steak & veggies and some drinks. IF you want a bit more def...get a lil fencer or master brawler.

I discovered one hidden benefit to composite:

I used to hunt Quenkers wearing kinetic ubese. At the end of a 3-hour session, I had 400-500 wounds and BF. When hunting Jantas or Mokks, somtimes I'd get 150-160 wounds when they hit me with a bleeding attack.

I figured since I was buffed and could handle the encumbrance, I might as well try composite. Well, after a 3-hour session, I have about 70 BF and less than a dozen wounds in Health, Action and Mind. NONE in any secondaries.

Sure, we can meditate away hundreds of wounds a minute, but it still impacts your fighting ability while you have them.

I don't see a reason not to wear armor, honestly. It's all a matter of making sure your stats and buffs are balanced with the armor and weapons you will be using.

I have only one reason not to wear armor:

Fashion sense

But on occasion it's very useful, i.e. Geo cave, nightsisters, pikeman rancor slaughter, tusken observers and Executioners, ....

Executioners were bad without specials, I feel lucky I have only run into one since they got them back. My friend was incapped in one shot and only managed to get away alive because theExecutioner was trying to get me while I was speeding away on my swoop.

I wear my armor as little as possible but I always have it with me just in case.

I use armor on very few occasions.

* When grinding faction poitnts and I get some rebel NPCsthat like to use a bunch of mind damage

* NPC Mobs, like geocaves or DWB.

*ginding a new melee profession

when going into PvP, i will rarely use armor. Never use it on creatures like rancor or such.

I like buffs when I go on hunts like for ERs, and if I am going after guys like DWBor geo caves, I will like buffs with the armor.

Otherwise i like to wear my TK outfit with my tantle helmet. very cool looking

I got killed twice tonight on Dantooine while Buffed and Armored (Composite) by Mokk's. I'd hate to think what would happen if I DIDN'T have the armor on.

Before they got their specials back, I would run those missions unarmored as a pikeman (about half the toughness of TKM).

After they got their specials back I went to the Mokk stronghold with armor and they weren't even scratching me, but those annoying rockshapers kept chasing me after I bled them to 1 action with my pikeman action bleed. (stupid 100% resists and me forgetting to pack my CDEF carbine).

I rarely get buffs anymore since i changd my stats & became a Combat Medic.

The only time ill get buffs is whendoing PvP or fighting high end PvE content, Mokk/Jantas are not consideredhigh end for me...especially if you know what your doing.

I just toss a Area poison, but only the target npc will attack me while the others just sit there ticking and ticking away. By the time i get to the rest of the Mobs, their health bars arehalfway downor more
