There are just too many variables.
As stated, theres buffed and unbuffed, and using or not using armor. Then its also a matter of a straight up fight with just Commando weapons and skills vs. TKM weapon and skills or a mixture of professions.
We'll take out the whole buff question as in my opinion one allows you to last longer and spam your specialties more (if that was a factor).
Now I used to be a Commando/Smuggler/Pistoleer and currently am a Swordsman/TKM/Fencer so I'm trying to draw from my experiances and so try not to flame me too badly.
Now in a straight up fight and wearing armor I think the advantage is with the Commando just because of the Flame 2 and its DOT when it sticks. Once that is done he can just try to keep away from his opponent, and even if he's knocked down the TKM just can't do enough damage with just kinetic. And I think the flame DOT will just eat away at him before he is able to incap a Commando. Then since bomb droids are part of a Commando's arsenal and you get one to hit that will take a significant part of a characters HAM bars.
As for unarmored, honestly I can't say and I will have to agree with the above poster, it all depends on who gets the first blow, KD2 or Flame 2 and run. And also unless they cure their flame DOT or find water nearby, I've been in enough duels as a Commando to see that it turns into a draw. Even if I get incapped the DOT does get them everntually also.

tough call, well if hte commando isnt running and is in dizzy/kd range and isnt wearing comp we would rule them. if said commando is out of kd range or wearing comp while buffed i think i would have to go with the commando, as long as they can get flame2 in of course and even if the tkm could take the commando down after getting flamed you would have to be careful of burning ot death, unless of course there is a healthy body of water near, if htat still works which im not sure of.

this is funny... i dropped master fencer to pick up TKM because, IMO, TK is the best all-around profession out there. with the right gear and the right food and the right skill, you can beat anybody in pvp, and pve is...well...pve...
also, one poster was mentioning flame2 in pvp with no armor unbuffed... UH3 against a commando unbuffed (not much melee D there...) once = death.

All I know is a commando can one-shot incap someone unarmored and un buffed. I had this happen in a recent duel. Never got a hit in. But the very next fight I got the KD2 in.
Combat log from first fight:

XXX uses (Whatever shot is was) for (some amount of damage higher then my HAM)

I was a Master Commando and dropped it for TKM. I used to make fun of melee'ers but its the only way to advance in this pathetic excuse for a game. However, I would always start fights w/ unbuffed ppl and run my mouth. The simple fact is, unbuffed, and even WITH armor, no matter who you were, jedi, TKM, fencer, you were going DOWN when you dueled me. At master I hit 99 out of 100 times w/ my FT. One hit with flames 2, and you ARE dead. Even if you have 5 health left, and you dizzy KD me into oblivion, in about 4 seconds, that flame dot will have ur @$$

Actually I have beaten many defense stackers with TKM and Commando
(I don't use the term stacker lightly, since my main is one as well)
It mostly boils down to how well you understand the abilities of each profession, not in the actual "power" one profession has.
