The funny part is, you never know what you can take down till you try...im 1-1-2-1, and with my Master Doc buffs, im taking out Tuscan Kings that con red to me, with my rock beetle, we take out the spawn of the king, 2 raiders, a commoner and a Tuscan Bantha...about 10k in xp per spawn...and once they fix the loot drops...sweeet...

Whereas my rifleman, im afraid to take on even cons...

Yes, I remember spamming my friends with, "Holy crap! I just took a red con and three yellow cons solo!" Hehe... Now that I've fought different things a bit, I know my limits. But those first few fights where I thought I'd lose, were incredible. Of course, I had mediocre armor and some medic skills to back me up. No way could I solo against those odds without them.

Well, my main char is a Bounty Hunter (I had him working towards MBH since I got the game); when the new Euro servers went live, I decided to take a break from the investigation grind and created a char on Chimaera which I intend to make a TKA/doc.

I'm at unarmed 3 now, and so far it's a bit tedious but very interesting. Where as a BH, I have to rely on my knockdowns and general state changes to keep my target down and away from me, as brawler I go in close and personal. It's actually a nice change.

I'm definitely looking forward to reaching novice (and eventually master) TKA.

You will definately enjoy TKA novice, you will see a huge boost in your power, you'll be raking the exp in once you get there.

I already feel more powerful than my old Pistoleer on Eclipse, the only thing I miss is the bleeds.

I agree, I've tasted a little bit of every profession trying to find what was best for me, hell I climbed through unarmed 4 twice for smuggler then again for commando, after mastering commando, yeah I did massive amounts of damage but it was boring. Hit button, run around and hope you don't die for 8 seconds, heal, hit button, rinse, repeat. It just wasn't doin it for me, so I did a bit of switching again and TK is THE MOST FUN I've had since day one. I still remember when I got all hopped up on Muon Gold and took out the Lord Nyax Dungeon on my own, makes a man feel good to know that he can wipe out 45 NPCs without a scratch. I love TK and this is the one profession I'm sticking with. It's the most fun and by far the coolest, with TK more than any other profession, you're kind of buying an image as well. For christ's sake, I'm a friggin ninja, and that's just bloody awesome to me!

This thread is 100% true.

I just got done grinding the unarmed xp to get to novice TKA and the difference between unarmed 4 and TKA novice is huge.

I found myself able to solo 5-6 white con mobs at once by using unarmed spin attack1 (which is a brawler skill, but once you hit tka it rocks) without healing at all.

Where I once had to be careful as to how many mobs i took on at a time, I am now able to enter into a good sized battle against a number of enemies who are all my level.

I was able to gain 50k unarmed xp in the first 30 minutes or so of becoming a tka, and was delightfully surprised.

I must say that the grind was worth it, so for everyone grinding up the brawler unarmed branch, keep on keepin on, and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes novice roxors!!! It doubles your base dagame For those of you that are struggling up unarmed buy VK with the best speed you can find and just beserk you hose things. Makes things a LOT easier. even though you ot cert you have the armor perrcing anf you hit faster and more often and it seems to do more damage tooo.

Definitely glad to read this. A holo told me to master TKA and since I am a master commando with 3400 CH and Novice Medic I was dreading it. I remember I how much I hated the grind to get UA4 to qualify for commando and before I used my holo I kept saying, "please no melee, please no melle." Now it doesn't sound so bad. Atleast I am fortunate enough to have some graul mauler backup, and with my launcher pistol bleed shot I'm already soloing on Dantooine and I don't even have novice. I was worried that I was going to be hitting for 200 hp forever.

TKA seems likeall the other combat professions, very slow to start but then it gets super easy. At my current commando/ch level I can make 300 - 600,000weapon xp in an hour easy.

Question for anyone with TKA/commando: Have you found any creature where you could use flame DOT and still get good unarmed xp?

Okay, okay! I admit it.

I am 112K/125K away from novice TK andI am only doing this because the holocron told me to Master Tera Kasi.

But ever since I first saw a Tera Kasi Master when I joined this galaxy over a month ago, I had always wanted to be one, but never found myself to actually attempt it.

I gave up commando (so I already had the unarmed done) and plus I have 170K combat xp saved up right now, so I can get 0/0/0/2 right away. I hope you're right about the difference from unarmed and tk novice. But I'm just happy I will finally be able to use my VK effectively.

This is EXACTLY my case! Verbatum! I had always been interested in TKA but heard how much of a grind it was...I am a master CH & Grenader, so I have max combat exp and unarmed 4. My first holocron told me TKA and I was actually EXCITED! I mean, I was expecting something like architect, or image desinger, or some other classes that I had absolutely NO interest in playing...something that IMHO takes away from SWG. Your journey to Jedi must be long and ardious, but still remain fun. Grinding out some profession I have no interest in is detrimental to me. (I'm sorry I'm sorry, I will /get_off_soapbox. Idon't mean to upset anyone, really) Back to my point...I can't wait to take on this profession. I'm 20k into my 125k TKA novice and loving it all the way.

Thanks for all the great feedback as well, I seem to get a more positive vibe in this forum than anywhere else...keep up the good work everyone! See you on the flipside!
