I wanted to put this in a separate reply. I had forgot to tell you to get some brandy and if you can afford it some ahrisa, that helps with the mind stuff. I also noticed you are on Bria, I will be on later tonight around 8 or 9pm PST and if you IM me (Mekar) I can give you a bottle of brandy if you don't have any/can't afford to buy it.

BTW... sounds like you are getting there, but I should tell you.. when you get TK Novice, it only gets better from there. I remember grinding to that point... total pain in the butt. When I trained in Novice, it was like I was touched by a divine power. I was amazed at how much better I was at Novice.

So, keep going... but don't wear yourself out. Enjoy the game. It's a great time.

Yeah as soon as you hit novice and are actually certified for the VK it's amazing. Then working up the tech tree each damage mod is even more amazing. I have no idea what's going on with the CU and I'm so tempted to try other combat proffs on my main (only have sp's for one though) since I've only done TK for about 5 months now, but I'm not touching anything until I see what happens with the CU first because right now I love TKM.

I finally did get there two days ago, it was 4:30AM lol. I only had time to test out my new power, but let me tell you, it awesome! I took out a quenker lair using only unarmedSpin1, didn't move from my spot, there must have been 5 or 6 quenkers attacking me at the same time (was buffed of course) and I just spammed spin1 over and over. Then I found some big giant thing, forget the name, but it looked like a stegosaurus minus the spikes, I think it was called a bol, anyways, I started using the new attack you get with tk novice, then another bol came in, I kept attacking the first bol, then started hitting the new one after I killed the first. The second one was much harder to take down, had a lot more HP, but I took him out. I killed some other things that were wondering around in the area too. In a matter of 30 minutes, I had made 9000 creds (had one quenker mission left over from grinding) and had racked up 30k xp. Now the 160k xp needed for 0010 TK in the tree seems like a breeze to get. I have to work all weekend otherwise I'd take a break from grinding and fly around, see the sights, visit the POIs, but the computer at my job has crappy Intel extreme integrated graphics, so grinding it out some more might be more appropriate (can't fly or move too much with 1-5 fps all the time). I work in a group home for foster kids, so once they go to sleep, I can play, in case you were wondering what kind of job would allow me to play video games.

Should I grind a new Jedi to 90 again since that's all there is to do SOE?

You should consider getting 0110 and then working through to 0140. Why Balance conditioning's first block? It will help with the grind through the tech block. I am surprised no one mentioned this. This is the fastest/easiest way.

unless you're going to stop in the middle of a fight to heal a disease/poison/or bleed then it is not worth it until you have 0/4/4/x because you don't get the wound healing which you'd use after a fight until box 4 on it.

Yes it is faster, but not until you reach 0/0/3/0 because while the knockdown is useful, you won't have the speed at 0/1/1/0 to kill the mob before it stands back up. Besides to grind, you want to use spin attack to hit all the creatures at once, not knock down each one and kill it.

Another thing is, I don't know if anyone notices but Teras Kasi doesn't have the range of the other melee professions, so for grinding use smaller creatures, such as voritors, baz nitches, huurtons, quenkers etc. Pickets and Bols and other big creatures, you can spam spin attack , even while targeting the lair, and only end up hitting one creature at a time. And most big creatures tend to have high kinetic resist in general. some intimidate as well making it take even longer to kill them.

I got power 1 last night, the stun skill I got with it seems useless to me. I'm still doing quenker missions on dantooine, or any other missions that pay around 5000.

Let me ask you guys, at what point do I become able to kill those caveman dudes on Dantooine? I was buffed, I was practically invincible to quenkers, they were hitting me, but my HAM was almost never going down far enough to see white. I had been out grinding for like 30 minutes, had 1:30 on mind buffs left. I took out some quenkers and had stupidly stored my swoop, that's the first time I've done that in a long time, figured I would conserve it's evergy. I take out the lair and three of those bastards show up and kill me, I had to clone. I was so pissed off. Thankfully I had already made up the money to buy another buff, but still. Why should a caveman with a bat be able to kill me? Anyways, do I have to become TKM before I can kill those turds?

Yea, Powers 3-4 needed. And you probably need the "Precision Striking" one also. That's the one that takes combat experience...it's also the defense one. I was actually working up my TK as "normal" just playing and killing stuff. I was 3/3/3/3 before I took on Mokks and Jantas. When you hit TKM, you can gank these idiots easily! Taking on 6 at a time will stress you if you are unbuffed, that's why I am getting pike also...for those area state attacks.

But keep hitting that Power techs tree. Personally I would stop the Power tree at 3, then get Balance Conditioning 1 at LEASE for the Melee Mitigation 1...it'll help defensively a LOT. And get those precision striking skills as they come up. I would say if you keep it up...you should be killing most missions on Dant within 2 more buff sessions.

Well, I don't know what I was doing different than you guys but I was able to take Jantas/Mokks at 0/0/2/1, the 30K level 99 missions. It hurt a little, I got knocked on my back a lot, but never incapped or killed. Running on decent health buffs, mind buffs, 73% Kinetic full ubese at the time, and brandy/canape. Even though it's been a few months I know I wasn't more than 0/0/2/1 because I did the tech, balance, and meditation trees in the order I just typed them and I know I was using spin1 on the janta lairs. At 0/0/3/2 I was doing Enraged Rancors......very very very carefully lol. To do those I had to again take the lvl 99 ones, the ones with 2 ER's out when you get there, if there was 4 that's too much. I'd kill the 2 that were there, then pop 2 more. Sometimes I'd have to wait for my health to regen a little.

EDIT: I found out just by trying it that I could take the jantas when I did, the ER's I was told I could take them at 0/0/3/2 so I did
