Nyax is high level PvE with very high kinetic resists, expecting to do alot of damage to him as a TK is been way to hopful, he's AR2 or 3. Rifflemen on the other hand have an AP2 Acid riffle which is great for taking him out.

As I said in the post above many rifflemen are speed caped, without been caped they hit every 1.5 seconds at the most. Advanced Strafe is also one of the most powerful moves in the game. The two added together gives a much higher output then a TK could ever have under the current system. It's something you just need to live with & accept.

Again TKs are tanks, not damage dealers. (at least not in the way a riffleman is)

& thats why.

As a Master Riffleman you hit at around 1.5 speed, most rifflemen invest in the +10 Riffle speed tapes to speed cap. Then you look at weapon information, they are AP3, you are only AP1, they get a huge damage bonus againest many mobs where many stuff you may will be suffering a much higher damage reduction.

This is simply their role, they are designed as high level damage dealers with low deffences (as it stands they are probably a touch OTT on the damage dealing, something that will probably be addressed with the CU/R/B). As you take on higher level stuff you will find their damage drops much less then yours does, with a few exceptions. On the other hand they would last only seconds in combat taking damage againest this higher level stuff, you as a TK are potentialy one of the best tanks around, your damage dealing though is only good up to a medium level.

If you want Damage dealing you want Swords or Riffles, if you want to be able to last a good amount of time, you want Swords or TK. If you wanna be the best tank you can be, you want TK.

TK is superb as long as what you want is what it gives.

TKM/MBrawler with Normal unsliced Knuckler and a Swordsman/Mbrawler with unsliced Power Hammer Against an unarmored no resist creature

Unarmoured, no resist? How often does that happen.

Many Swordsmen are speedcapped, so DPS drops to 1k for TKA, and 2 - 3.5k for Swordsman (approx.) when you hit AP1, go on up, and it gets real ugly.

meh...

Was pointing out that a basis of damage...you should have known that...I SAID it in the post.

OK, fine...I'll just use AVERAGE DAMAGE against different AP Targets. Sorry, but I WON'T use speed capped on both, because unless you have a LOT of cash, or been playing a LONG time to get FS melee speed, you will NOT be speed capped. (I have been playing 6 months, and Ihave no where NEAR the $ needed to get the speed tapes and I JUST started FS)

AR0 Swords - 994 TKA 3176

AR1 Swords - 795 TKA 2541

AR2 Swords - 636 TKA 1270

AR3 Swords - 318 TKA 635

Remember, this is taking into account a 12pt Masters weapons without slice. Speed sliced Power Hammers and Damage Sliced Knucklers...make this margin a little more in the favor of TKs. My Current VK is 47-191 Damage (again, I have played 6 months...not enough $ to get the 220s yet) AND I am Trandoshan. My averages, AR0 3571, AR1 2857, AR2 1428, AR3 714 For the PHs, I think I saw some NICE speed sliced ones at like 3.6 speed (Not sure, still looking for some...because I just added Swordsman a few days ago) At that speed they do AR0 1490, AR1 1192, AR2 954, AR3 477

Now, about speed capped and using good weapons...Requires a +12 speed boost (tape or FS melee)and the speed sliced hammer. You'll deal AR0 3488, AR1 2790, AR2 2232, AR3 1116 Which means a Swordsman is ONLY better in AR2 & AR3 categories...which are your Krayts and high end MOBs. And it'll cost you through the noce for those attachments, or about 3 weeks + of grinding the FS Tree. Now...the only time you'll see major disparities in damage is with Loot'd Power Hammers, those can do a LOT more damage. Seen them with 3.6 Speeds and topping 900 damage. The best a TKM can hope for is a perfect Nym Motor'd VK with a 34%+ Damage Slice. Topping at about 237-240 damage, giving you no real bonus against the 8 million cred powerhammers.

I do have a pic somewhere of a VK that scared the CRAP out of me...113-344 damage, but that still doesn't equal those bad MF'n PHs.

I am a speed capped Master Swordsman, and I will outdamage any TKM in PVE by HUGE margins against anything out there. I have blast damage AP2 with max of 712 after power up (nothing special, just a good slice). Scythe with 445 max damage (damage slice) for AP2 Kinetic.

Was also a master rifleman, and in PVE, there is no one that can outdamage a good master rifleman if he is speed capped and knows what he is doing.

Now, with that said. I'm also a master TK, and in PVP I will take nearly any swordsman in nearly every fight. State effects and the ability to attack any pool I want gives me great target control and fast damage output.

I keep swords for PVE, and TK for PVP. Can't bear to give up either, because of how effective each is, just depends on what you want to do.

Rifleman is fun too, huge damage dealing in a cone even, but not a good tank if your alone and your cone shots do no good at point blank. But great if you have a tank to keep aggro while you fire into the group. Plus conceal shot is wonderfull fun.

Swords is definitely best for PvE, especially if you are speed capped...but how long did it take and how much did it cost to speed cap? You using tapes? or FS?

Take your tapes/FS out, now grab your best weapon. Stand next to a TKM with a basic speed sliced VK. Both of you attack a Janta Shaman (Like 10K ham). See who kills it first. I would place my money on the TKM. Both of you guys being unbuffed, TKM still kills first. Speed Capping is the only way for a swordsman to beat a TKM in PvE....

Everytime I hear Swordsman is better...they ALWAYS add speed capped. Everytime I hear Pikeman is better, I always hear speed capped.

To pull a speed cap, you HAVE have something other than your weapon and armor. A TKM does NOT need that stuff. Heck, we can do as good unarmored as some people armored.

PvE champ goes to SPEEDCAPPED Swordsman, king of the solo kill.

well if a tka isnt speedapped, they arent good either

besides, i've soloed elders and krayts when I was a non-speedcapped swordsman, and I beat a buffed TKM unbuffed as a swordsman

Unless you're fighting something AP2/AP3, with 100% Kinetic resists.
