Not to rain on anyone's parade, but you are a TK Novice according to your sig. He's a master level pistoleer or whatever. It could be that they were not conning red to him.

Not to mention that most any TK with Knockdown or Unarmed Lunge 2 probably could take on 3 Ravenous Tortons as well. They don't resist the way you'd expect something that large to resist and you can get in normal hits while cycling knockdown on all three. It couldn't be done in a minute like the original poster stated he saw the pistol guy do, but it's still doable even while they *do* con red. It wouldn't be a breeze and get too many resists in a row and you'll probably have a free trip to the nearest cloning facility, but it's doable still.

Not worth the experience/time tradeoffs for us though.

Just an fyi, ravenous tortons con blue to me ( Master TKA ) and him as a master pistoleer should have had no problems taking down those tortons. Personally I can take down 4 with no sweat or heals.

im int in all tk skills and at the time was adv power and i take 5 minutes to kill ravenous tortun. without being able to use vk's it took forever. *shrug* but hey, if getting master power increases your hit power and speed that much then i cant wait to get there.

i think we should play like jedi

if all this nerf stuf comes from groups asking to nerf us, then we shouldn't fight when people are around. we should not tell them of our abilitie and we should not give advice openly on any board.

just an fyi - pistols have ridiculously low ham costs. substantially lower than vk's.

the knockdown nerf wont hurt them at all.

heh, giant sized mobs like fumbaas and tortons don't have the same to-hit spot than their hitting spots.

if you have knuckles on, you won't be able to hit, all the while being hit by said mob. So no tka can't take on 3 tortons or fambaas(the yellow con ones at master tka anyway). Hopefully they will fix that.

Same thing with snakes on Lok. Sure, their heads are two feet in front of me, but they register as 4 meters away and out of range.

Yeah I think a delay is coming soon.

I can tell you that a combat medic far outdamages a TK. I know from experience.

Maybe it's their awesome weapons, maybe its the fact that their specials cost nearly nothing or maybe its both.

Lowering damage in PvP is fine, but without a /stick command the knockdown nerf might hurt melee. Why is when putting a knuckle i have less range then without one? Even if we get in melee range it's so easy to kite us.

Personally I think it was was pretty dumb of the game designers to give knockdown to any class. Granted it's nice and allows the undoable to be doable, but takes the challenge out of the game. If it was up to me, instead of nerfing it,I'd have it removed altogether. Either that or place a 60 second reuse delay on it.

I have two characters; the first is... get this... a novice armor smith, master medic with novice pistoleer and ranged weapon support 3. I solo rancor’s with ease, lets see what else, Smirnoff Bulls (I don't think they are sponsored by the vodka so sp?), Fambaa are a joke, Baz before the patch were a complete joke, now they are just a little of a PITA because they are social, I can't really think of anything else that even gives me enough challenge to warrent listing it. I took down a Krayt dragon SOLO with NO PETS NO DROIDS NO FACTION PETS NOTHING just a dinky little DL44 pistol and about 20 minutes of time to kill. BTW this was one of the first arguments that I heard to nerf CH, was a master CH that said his class was totally and stupidly unbalanced since he could cycle pets and solo a Krayt dragon. Well if I remember correctly he died 2-3 times and got a little help in the middle by some passer by's, and he was using a laser carbine. I did this on the first try (obviously didn't get hit once) and granted I squeaked by on a few tense moments and got lucky a few times, but it would be fairly easy to repeat, (and I am planning on doing it ASAP because I am an idiot and remapped my keys, unbinding the SS button and didn't take screenies like a dumb newbie) but I can't see it taking more than 2-3 tries to finally hit the win streak and have it work out.

No knockdown

No CH/Pets/Droids

No pistol-whip

No help what so ever

No cheesy exploits (unless you count the way the specials I use work, which I think is ridiculous and should be called an exploit)

My second character is a mix of melee... I will NEVER even be able to even THINK about soloing with the ease that my medic solos. With a little luck my medic/novice pistol can solo the hardest creatures in the game currently, which I know of (Krayts and Kilimongos). Have not tried taking on a dark Jedi, but I am willing to bet that I can with carbines action shot 2. Basically you are FAR superior to anything without a ranged attack, especially if it is a creature and not a humanoid.

All the melee classes in this game are a novelty, a pure and simple cruel joke. With a pistol that has no armor piercing I can stack 2 bleeds, stun and snare a target, kite it and do 10k damage within 5-10 minutes depending on armor rating easy. I regen faster than any of my specials drain so I can spam them indefinitely. I also played for about 30 minutes with a friend of mines novice carbineer and it was a little more difficult to complete the initial steps, due to the carbines HAM cost and accuracy being almost as jacked up as some of the melee class's issues. But once I got the process rolling, you can do so much fricking damage with a laser carbine it’s a joke, no melee beast/humanoid will ever kill you unless they are very lucky or you are very stupid.

I would like to add, that I am not in any way crying for a major ranged nerf, rather give the melee classes the ability to find a tactic to counter the ranged class. All the classes should have checks and balances that work to make PvE and PvP combat a constant battle of wits, who can keep up and who can do the correct moves/actions/decisions/whatever at the appropriate time. Whoever is better at working with what their class gives them, and being knowledgeable about what they are fighting, should in most cases be the victor. Not some power gamer grinder on speed who killed five million Gnorts to get BH Torso/Eye shot and fire knockdown so they can one hit everyone under 1k ham and knockdown the rest never being touched.

Come on devs, show some class and balance appropriately. There are so many arguments against the current structure of the BH class (picking on them I know, but it’s easy because it is the obvious overpowered/under effort class) that I can not really believe that they are "bumping up" its damage... what you want to be able to kill something twice with one shot? Please, some sudo cop that dabbles in a little pistol skills and carbine skills, but spends 1/4th of its skill on non-combat abilities and mods completely outclasses the people who specialize 100% in those weapons, and is the end all be all PvP character?

I guess I can't be too shocked, they can't even fix it so that a master armor smith can properly make their armor, a TKA cant attack anything over 1m in length because of a hit box flaw, a carbineer (mobile high power shock troop) can't hit anything unless he is at exactly 50m and kneeling, a weapon smith cant make a gun with reasonable HAM costs blah blah blah see dead horse kick dead horse the list goes on. Hey I got a great idea, why don't you spend like 3 months of hard core coding time and make it so that there are NO NEWBIE melons instead of one, I mean that should totally fix everything huh.
