Thread: Is there any chance that berzerk will not be removed?
How are your stats migrated, and what are they at now?
It still doesn't make any sense to me to waste the HAM on intimidate and the other specials, not at master power. I've fought a few Nym's while exploring Lok, and I've never seen them use a special of any type (other than posture change) while in melee range.
If it works for you, that's fine, but it seems like you're making it alot harder than ithas to bewith regards to how much ham you have left by the time you start actually attacking the mob, especially with having to reapply the 'debuffs' after they wear off.
When I fight things like that, it's un-equip knucklers, knockdown x2(incase first is resisted, more if needed), dizzy, knockdown again, and then hit. Toss in a knockdown2 for some extra damage throughout the fight, or something else if I feel like it. Reapply knockdown / dizzy when needed.
Unless I get rather unlucky with resists, I usually end the fight at 80% or more HAM. Regen will obviously be slower for you as a non-trando, but with medic skills I don't see it being much of a problem really.
It's alot moresimple, and I'm sure they likely die in roughly the same time, but.. It's alot more work and alot more ham usage on your end to un-equip knucklers, knockdown, dizzy, blind, intimidate (if it isn't resisted), stun, knockdown again, berzerk, re-equip knucklers andhit it a few times, and then re-apply debuffs after zerk fades. Alot of non-needed HAM usage I think.
It's likely more effecient ham-wise to use berzerk instead of knockdown2 or another special, though. I don't see intimidate or any of the others as needed when you have master power with how fast hits are and how low the delay on knockdown is, though.

Anyone with master power and at least balance one can do the same with 0 downtime depending on resists, regardless of armor. Your pets are likely the mitigating factor here, not the armor.
I have one skill attachement on a belt I looted which adds some bonus to Unarmed Accuracy, but other than that, nothing. I've survived thus far without it in PVE, and I don't see it as needed to be successful in what I want to do currently.
If I planned on PVPing before they actually put some balance into melee professions, or going after something insane like a Dark Jedi or whatnot, I might get some. At the moment it's not needed though. I can endlessly fight pretty much anything I want, with downtime coming only if I have more than 3 adds.

I disagree ![]()
PVP obviously needs something to augment our abilities currently, but hopefully that will change somewhat with time.
Mister_Heavy wrote:berserk might still be useful as a brand newby. +75 dmg at novice brawler might make a difference. And if you think about it, it is a novice brawler skill. I'm not saying that I think it's a good change, but I can kinda see them not wanting masters of elite melee professions relying on a novice brawler skill for most of their damage.
I'd be nice if they fixed some of the broken things while they're at it though.
As your base damage increases, berzerk gets better. Why should a skill not get better as I get better at using it? Seems perfectly logical to me.
And what else am I supposed to rely on when fighting something with literally 20x+ as much health as me? My base attack of 100-300 or my specials that kill me faster than the opponent?
I don't want to sound stupid....but here's what i do and it seems to work fine.
When i see a mob i unequip my knucklers (shouldn't have to but the HAM cost is well...you know), KD 4 times then equip my knucklers and beserk and then after beserk is over unequip, KD a few times and equip the VK's. And that's all with more than 90% of my HAM still remaining, btw, i'm a rodian TK 0/1/3/1
Silly to assume that of SOE.
You don't play their game to have fun, you play it to grind until you get gray hair & to pay $15 a month.
If you actually have fun, better enjoy it fast cause they are gonna nerf it a patch or 2 away.
Seriously now.. They nerfed it to the point of worthlessness so why not remove it. To me it just makes sense.
Maybe, just maybe, they'll give us something else that's worth while.. Or turn down our special costs.
It was a 75 point bonus per hit.. Figure it cost you around 170 points to click. Half the time I was failing it.. Out of the 7 hits I could swing in the timer I would miss probably 3 of them.
As I see it I was more or less helping the mob kill me by using it.

When opponents have 20k-30k health, yes, a 75 point damage incrase on your attack is no better than 0.
The bonus at master brawler made a huge difference for me in berzerk1 failures. I used to fail 4, sometimes 5, times in a row, but now I only fail about 1 out of every 10 attempts, which I think is very reasonable. And I only had to waste 42 skill points to succeed as often as I should be without the bonus.
knockdown 10 times. the times stack on the knockdowns.
equip vk's. Whack away, they wont touch you. I dont even berserk anymore, and I got master brawler for berserk 2.
With knockdown, there's no point in using berserk.
It seems that people that don't use berserk don't know how to play a TKA? Odd? Just maybe there is more stategic depth to this game that we thought before hand. I can beat Mt Squills on tat with out too much of a problem, if I miss knockdown too many times i'm toast. Though useing berserk I get slaughtered everytime. Like I said berserk to me with the way I play is only useful to me in a large group to get xp. In solo it's not really that useful.
Now there have been a few times I have berserked because I was in trouble. 5 or 6+ diseased bobcats for instance I lived but barely. I can kill them in 2 or 3 hits so it was faster to berserk and let them hit me than to play arround. Mt Squills net 3.5K unarmed xp per kill,so I don't think i'm winning because it is a weak mob.
Odd fella's, but i'm not seeing all these problems. I'm TK 1,1,2,1 . I go to a mt Squill hit him with dizzy then knockdown repeat each as I find out the missed or were resisted. After he is knocked down I hit him with stun and blind. Come on the Stun combo looks cool. Then I hit him normal un special attacks. First time I get hit again I do another knockdown till he goes down. So far it seems once or twice at most and he is down. Most of the time I have him beat by the time dizzy wears off, I finish it off get my 3.5k xp and sit down for 30 to 45secs meditateing to get my HAM back to full and rinse and repeat.
I'm not seeing the big issues people are complaining about here. With just berserk I owned by the MT squills, since I'v gotten knockdown I find it more useful to stay focused and in control, I mean come on they hit hard. OH yeah got knucklers and I don't bother to unequip. I also pull with health shot 1 and 2 cause they stack. They do dmg but don't leach pistol xp.
To help out with the mind pool I do wear a Ubese armour helmet built and sliced for HAM. Seems to work great.
Klaus Stiener- Tatooine's first trophy fisherman!!
Hey on another note, without berserk in a group I get crap for xp. The massive dmg produced by berserk get's me a big chunk of the group xp. Without berserk on endor I average 150 to 300 xp per mob. With berserk I get 1.5k to 2.7k. I've tried berserking with knucklers off and I still can't do enough dmg in those situation fast enough to get a decent xp. Any thoughts on that.
Now I think that for a TK berserk should be very expensive, aren't we supposed to be trained to keep focused and controled at all times, hence meditation? At the same time if they do take away berserk for a TKA ( leave it for brawlers) then I think they should at least give our effects a bigger bite. In essence our attacks will "do" things rather than just kill things. Not sure what that would do to our xp but then again it's something to be considered.
