Thread: Just a question about PvP since Death and Decay......

I'll keep fighting until my hands start to decay. You can always buy more armour and repair the stuff you've got. I hate the 1% enforced decay and think that it's an incredibly, massively, incomprehensibly badidea but it's still only 1%, I can live with it if I have to. No sense letting it detract from other aspects of the game.

And look at it this way - if you wear your armour, and the other guy doesn't, you needn't worry about decay because you're the one who will walk away from the fight.

That makes no sense! Adding up the decayed %s, gettings 50%? No chance, if you're gonna add things up, add them all up, if you add up the decayed %, then add the max values of the items too, I think you'll find that after adding up, you're still left with a 5% decay of everything! I'm pretty sure it goes the same for the cost too, so even though the decay on death issue does suck big time, it's there and there's nothing we can do about it, apart from win at all costs. Having said that, you have to be prepared to lose too, someone who is prepared to lose will carry on with PvP, someone who isn't, will stop.

I agree, pvp is a huge issue in the game and the GCW should play a major role, however I feel the devs have gone about decaying of items the wrong way. I agree about the being shot view, maybe have to item decay 1% for every 10 or 100 shots. In massive pvp situations, being shot 100 times is not unlikely, as we know from weapon powerups that last 100 shots, they go pretty quick.

In all fairness though, I highly doubt they'll retract the decay on death thing, it's there and I seriously doubt if it's going anywhere, despite all these complaints. We'll just have to deal with it. I think they're trying to encourage insurance more. We all took advantage of the fact that it was broken to start with, now they are trying to bring it back into the game. Evidently, it is supposed to be a bigger part of the game than it previously was. Now they're trying their hardest to redeem it. Sucks I know, but it's just the way it is...

GOD, IM SO FRIGGIN STUPID..../emote slaps him self upside the head as hard as he can...OUCH... OK sorry for the confusion heres whatI orginally wrote and its incorrect.

and quote:

when you add up all the items that had decayed its not really 5% or 1%, it will add up to much more when you add the percentage of decay between all the items in your inventory, which for example: If 10 of your items decay when you die at 5%(uninsured) your talking a total decay of 50%. THEN if you take theAVERAGEcost of allyouritems that decayedto be around (for this example) 20k, you just lost 10k from dying.

ACKwhat was i thinking...LOL...what magicburn said ismore along the lines of what iwas trying to say, i justended up confusing the heck out of myself though, so this is what i was trying to explain.

If you add up the total cost of all the items that are going to decay in your inventory, lets just say for example 500k which isn't too obsured when you consider the cost of a full set of composite, multiple weapons, clothing, ect.. take that 500k and mutiply it by 5% or .05, you come up with 25k. SO basicly if you are carrying that much value in itemsand you die uninsured you just lost 25k of value in your total cost ofitems due to decay upon death.

Sorry about that, was writingmy previous postfrom work and was having a LONG and BAD day.... guess my mind was somewhere else. (not to mention i suck at math LOL)

Dev 1: Hey look those people are participating in the galactic civil war! We must end this madness, the universe can't survive the turmoil.

Dev 2: Ok, we'll make it so items decay on death so no one will want to fight in the civil war sinceplayers inevitibly will die if theygo overt and therefore have their valuable items decay.

Yay logic!

But seriously, the devs were complaining not enough people were participating in the GCW before and they do this? Maybe, just maybe you could have done the following to solve all theproblem decay on death solved:

1) Add decay to clothing - wow make clothing decay like armor? That unpossible

2) Make it so you have to clone every time you die - yay money sink, hell double, no make that triple cloning costs while you're at it

3) Make it so you take wounds even when you clone - Even if you're cloned make it so players still take a 100 wounds in each stat and BF and if you don't clone make it 200.

Wow, look how f'ing hard that was.

That was a statement, not a question.
