Atm I am useing TKM, Ranger 4/2/2/2, and medic 0/0/2/0. I am cl 65, I have been working with it and learning. I have been mostly a solo player and havn't given it up yet. With my mask scent (camo when it get's fixed), and the bit of bacta shot, useing my 'glow wire trap' to bring down the critters defence, with armor break and no weapon....I can take lvl 66 missions, but you must keep cob active all the time. I have only been takeing yellow mobs, and pulling one at a time away with my traps. I stand alone. Tonight I will try a lvl 67 mission, wish me luck. Before the cu I was one of those stuborn one's who refused to get buff'd up every timeI went out to hunt, or just to grind for my FS xp, I saved itfor the DWB and other hard hunts with my guildies. I seems to me, even at lvl 65 I am makeing about the same xp per mission (no not counting the 2x xp this week). It takes me longer to do a mission and I am only makeing about half the pay I was before with pretty much the same templet. Oh and I am haveing luck with pulling one critter at a time out, I can not take 2 at the same time.

Yep, we're all newbies now As somebody who's still really a newbie--three months in the game sure as heck doesn't make me an expert--I'm cool with that, seriously. A lot of the people I've talked to in game and out, the ones who're rabidly anti-CU and are quitting or are talking about quitting, 'I can't get any XP! I can't do what I used to do all the time!', that's the point exactly, they're trying to use exactly the same habits they used when they were buffed out the proverbial wazoo. All they see is what they used to do, and can't do in exactly the same way anymore...and can't see that new possibilities are opened up. Possibilities like creating a close-knit bunch to hunt with--you can't get XP anymore solo with your template? Level 80 missions to hard for you on your lonesome? Find some friends who are in the same boat, develop tactics to use, betcha you'll be doing level 82's or better and the XP will be pouring in. Can't get loot (yes, heard this too)? I went after level 56, 60, and 70 Krayts on Saturday, yes solo, and got some wonderful loot doing so--also lost two swoops and a landspeeder, but compared to excellent tissues, armor cores, and quality pearls, I think it's a good tradeoff...there's things you can go for to get loot, maybe they're not Nightsister Elders, but they beat the heck outta meatlumps. Your old template doesn't seem so great anymore? Neither did TKM/Master Commando for me...I'd never tried Swordsman of any level prior to the CU, I respec'ed into a TKM/Master Swordsman, and I'm not missing my flamethrowers or my spin attacks. Well, maybe the flamethrowers...we get free respecs, not just one but one every twelve hours, try new things, you might dig 'em.

I guess my point in that uberlong paragraph is, yes things've changed, yes it's a whole new game in so many ways, yes there're problems that will likely be around for six months or longer...but it's not the end of the world. Play your cards right, it might be the beginning of a better one.

Great, whole new game.... Still absolutely ZERO new content and the little we have will take another 6 months to rebalance at the current rate. You wonder why people leave...

*Checks. RotW still pre-ordered? Yup. Hunt the Pilot quests running? Yup. New combat system to hate and then learn to love and be interested in? Yup.*

New content's a comin'. It's very very rare to get significant new content (at least from SoE) without buying an expansion.

Innate armor drops as soon as you put on any piece of armor. I will stick with the innate myself. I have no movement encumbrance. I read about knuckles and the damage from them. Well, they are combat level 14. you want to use a combat level 14 weapon at level 50 go ahead. you will find you don't do as much damage as you do bare knuckled.

Weapons? I understand as long as you are using a BRAWLER wepon (melee) you keep innate. I do think though that droops as soon as you equip a ranged weapon. Maybe not, but I only use the ranged to pull MOBs then switch to melee asap. You will also note that all ranged wepons give a hindrance when equipped. Melee do not.

Consider getting fence then dropping for sword/pike. Reason? Get the additional melee speed, melee defense, and ranged defense from Fencing. you get to keep that when you drop the skills. Comes in handy with Master TKA/Brawler/Sword/Pike. Well, won't be able to keep Master Brawler I don't think with TKA/Sword/Pike but will have to recount points.

Well, I wouldn't be too quick to drop your rifle (or whatever ranged weapon your using to pull) and go to unarmed to fight up close. Your Innate armor does NOT drop with a ranged weapon, NOR are there any close combat penalties to use a rifle at 0m. I'm a TKM. I love it to bits and I will not get rid of it, however, I will punch for rougly 500pts of dmg versus my rifle attack at 1000pts. It doesn't take much to realize that if I can use all my defense capabilities as a TK but still have the offense capabilites of a rifleman... um.. yeah. It seems odd, but that is how they have designed the game. Until TKs get these "Black Sun Knucklers" or "Katarn Knuckles" or whatever these super knuckles are supposed to be, it's a blasters world now.

It is an interesting change, as it really combines professions now. But I can honestly say that in a group of five friends, two of which are TK, the two left standing after a severe onslaught are the TKs. And to the other person that has posted this comment, I agree... USE the respec, check things out, move some unused points around. You just might be surprised at what you find. (Currently a TKM, Master Commando, Novice Bounty Hunter 'Inv3'... makes an interesting combonation)
