Thread: This Jedi-Watching stuff is way out of hand
There was a posting some time ago on these boards, providing a link to a fan website, listing the history and origins of Teras Kasi. The writeup stated that practitioners of TK emerged to keep a watchful eye on the Jedi. While extremely well-written, this material is 100% fan-created.
I have acquaintances and friends who research the continuity Star Wars expanded universe material for Lucasfilm, Theforce.net and the D20 SWRPG. Yes, call em' Star Wars pundits (they affectionately like to be referred to as geeks)...Being a TKA in SWG myself, I forwarded the link to them to verify the validity of the article above, in light of existing SW literature out there. Truth is, they replied stating that other than the Playstation game, and a few vague references in West End Games and Wizards of the Coast RPG products, there is no definitive "Lucas Licensing approved" writeup on the origins of Teras Kasi.
Bottom line IMHO? Create whatever background for TK that tickles your fancy in SWG. But to proclaim yourselves as Chaperones to the Jedi Order might be a little unStarWarsish to pundits of the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
And if you can take down Jedi in PVP, sweet. More power to ya!

PS - If you can find at least one piece of SW literature in the comics or books that contradicts what I've said, please bring it to my attention, I always like to go back to my sources and prove them wrong....

yes it is the best melee class to have in my opinion merely for the in your face style of fighting
do not think because you are tka you will block saber hits or stop force lightining from killing you

with the points left over from tka i suggest a ranged profession to complement your skills
the template i follow whups bounty hunters to the ground... infact the only thing that is better and that has beaten me tested and tried is melee master doc combo with a lot of buffs and a helmet and armor
its pretty bad when half the server wanders around with a composite helmet lol

jedi are just wizards without wizard hats running around with light sticks to park traffic in the parking lot.
they put on little tricks for the kiddies, and can have some fun doing back flips.
my point was that the people who are bringing up some of their points .....had somewhat of a point.
TK isn't just as you say unarmed attacking, because we have history in star wars....otherwise the bounty hunter would simply be nothing more then gun fighters who can use a lazer gun too, and call out a droid like everyone else.
Now swords pike and fencing are in fact just that. they are swords pike and fencing.
our class doesn't say vibro knuckler, sure it says steel fists, but its a title to represent a type of person you are, and what you belong to.
all sumed up, because of the nature of the TK profession benig more then simply a vibro knuckler and some styles, I can see TK being the class they fool with and turn into the melee version of BH.
if they do that at all why would they make something identical with no history, when they have that in place already.
that is why elite elite makes sense, and that is why making it so you have to unlock that with some kind of quest makes sense....no one honestly exspects that they will give TKs powers to compete with jedi for the points we spend right now.
but if they do make another rival. much like singing mountian sister clan vs nightsisters, and another BH type melee profession it would most certianly be TK and not another profession.
