I really do not care about TKA dabblers. If someone dabbles 4004. Fine, they have high defense, and meditate. Good for them. How much damage do they do in unarmed combat? Not nearly as much as me. Do they have my knockdowns? No. When it comes to unarmed combat. Dabbling doesn't really cut it. Sure they use it to boost their other professions abilities. That is fine. I have fencer skills that boost my tka abilities on the defense side. I have master brawler skills that also boost my abilties.

I can't sweat people dabbling in powerboost. Let them. It's one of the best skill lines for the solo player out there. However dabbling in meditate to get around the need for a medics to heal wounds... That is a different story. I would like that moved to master personally.

I'am a TKM but I'm also a dabbler. I'm an 0-0-0-4 artisan. I craft nothing. Should I be nerfed so I can't survey to run my harvestors? Also as was mentioned most of us are Medic dabblers. The only ones of us who don't dabble medic are the ones that go full Doctor. Should we be nerfed from self healing? If they want to spend the points I say good for them.

Dabbling is fine with me... unless the dabbler kicks the Masters ass in their own professino that they dabbled in.

I am planning on being a major dabbler... Master TKA, Smuggler 0040, Pistoleer 4000, Commando 0040, Novice Medic.

Ill be able to range KD people, be accurate with pistols, burn creatures and people, and self heal, use TKA for the wounds, and kick ass up close.

Because being a TKM/Armorsmith makes sense???

I'm not trying to be origonal, I'm trying to kick ass.

First off if youve noticed any balancing that has been done to a proffesion it has been to elite or hybred not to basic proffesions so the dabbling in medic or artisan doesnt fly with me. As for TK PB needs to be moved to med 4 and the ability to heal wounds at any rate of speed needs to be in the master box after all its the ability to heal your wounds with no meds that hurts the player economy so it has to be moved to master in my opinion, and PB needs to be in the fourth box because of its value. And its not really for the health and action boosts for alot of people, its for the mental boost. After allits practical that Doctors, Combat Medics, Medics, Image Designers, cant think of any others would want the boost to their mind pool so they should have to invest a little more time and sp to get it when its so helpfull.

Moving PB to meditate 4 not only nerfs dabblers, but any who truly want to be a TKM. We've made the tough path to mastering TKA and now we want to tell those that follow us that they don't get the tools that we used to get there.

I just fail to see why I should be upset that someone else can Powerboost. If Doctors, Combat Medics, Medics, Image Designers want to spend 44 skill points, almost 1/5th of the total, and grind 641K unarmed expierience, I'd say they earned it.

I've done alot of thinking over the dabbling professions. I myself am a master brawler, tkm, going on to master fencer. I don't see anything wrong with dabbling, but I think the skill trees most of these defensive *couph*godmode*cough players are dabbling in should be scattered throught the different trees. I think this because I don't agree with the idea of getting the best of a ceratin aspect of a profession, just by learning one tree. A person who dabbles in a profession should not have equal, or close to equal abilities as someone who has the master title.

I look forward to the day when all the serious pvpers go master rifleman / tk 2004 / fencer 4400 / pistoleer 0044, since learning these exacttrees is the only way obtain these insane defenses. Doesn't leave much to anyone who wants to be a non-rifle wielding player. Hey look on the bright side, fewer people will be tkm / master fencer /master brawler. Oh yea thats not a bright side, I can't hit anyone else because they have 211 melee defense and 80 block to top it off. Anyone see where I'm goin' with this? lol

I agree. Let them dabble with Powerboost. Wound healing should be a Master only ability. Medics need a job!

Is it just me? or is everyone and their brotherhave some skill(preferabley /healdamage) from medic. Heck last night I saw a master TKA use a stim in combat. I've been playing this game since 1 week from release and the numbers of novice medics have skyrocketed. Do you think SWG needs newer professions? or should the ability to use a stim pack be moved to master doctor?

post your thoughts. . . . .

Woundhealing should me moved to master and powerboost maybe splitted in 2 kinds of powerboost a lower one should replace the original one which is moved to master .

And just for the record .-... i went tkm/doctor in august last year and im not quitting this because its has become 'unoriginal'

Come on. Dabbling is what this game was supposed to be. From the manual that comes with this lovely game:

"Each column in a profession is called a ""discipline"". You are not forced to learn all four disciplines in a given profession. In fact, you will probably want to mix and match disciplines, allowing you to focus on what interests you the most."

Now, to stop the "go away dabbler" flames, I am TKM. But I got no problem with the dabblers. And every good skill should not be moved to Master. Powerboost was a nicelittle thing, but as an MD (and I'm not going to drop it because it's unoriginal as well) I sometimes even forget to powerboost, unless I need the Mind boost.

And as to all the cross-dabbling "uber" templates, the combat revamp is supposed to un-stack some of that, so you'll see dabblers have to un-dabble some skills. My guess would be they'd give up the support skills, which Meditate really is, it has no direct affect on combat other than a short duration buff, for more direct skills like defenses and such. Just my opinion anyway.
