"how do you make someone bleed with your barehands?"

ROFL!!!!!!

Well, as a boxer in RL, (I'm on my school's boxing team) I truthfully can't fully explain exactly WHY you bleed, but if you come within 5 feet of me I can show you. A most rightous Smitation indeed.

Well, here's the basics of why you would bleed from a punch to the face, as opposed to a laser shot.

  • Punch: When punched, blood vessels are ruptured and cause bleeding, normally internal, seen in the form of bruises. In certain occasions, blood vessels ruptured will be close enough to the skin, or the skin will be torn up enough for blood to seep through. Alternitavly, there are certain locations, (the nose and mouth) where skin can also easily be torn to realise blood flow.

  • Laser: Lasers are super heated light blasts. Conflageration is the resuly of flesh burning and stopping blood flow. Lasers would produce such an effect if fired.

In conclusion, it would be impossible for a SWG gunman to bleed people, while a Teras Kasi easily could.

Now don't even get me started on how well a knife should bleed, I mean, a single stab under the arm or into the side of the stomach and you've got a corpse in under a minute. Not that you should try this.

Something else I've observed...when I'm getting shot at by NPC's I manage to dodge alot just by simply moving in a zigzag fashion while heading towards my target. This work for anyone else? Obviously I still get hit, but it seems as though I get hit alot less than when I go straight into them.

brilliant idea...... you guys should be able to induce a concussion that acts as a mind bleed...... or cause internal bleeding... I guess the opinion of a doc pistoleer doesn't matter but those would be cool moves(just not against me)

In my opinion, bleeds for us are silly. Our strength isn't to widdle away at something. It's to kill it and make it dead VERY fast. To finish a target in the most efficient manner possible and move on to the next (and next and next and next and next...you get the picture for those that know how to PvP).

I also consider bleeds a very very cowardly way to kill something. Flaming as well, just wimpy. If you cannot stand toe to toe with something and pound it into soup, than you have no business fighting it solo in the first place.

Yes. If it is a duel, then you pretty much stand in place and try to kill each other. That's pretty much the definition of a duel. You can agree to different rules ahead of the duel, but running away usually isn't included in such arrangements. In war, anything goes, but the original poster was talking specifically about duels.

A duel is about winning a fight Its also done in fun, and you can apply rules if you like but really, what do you expect?

A ranged fighter with no mellee ability is so dead if he doesnt kite a TKM. The fight would last 2 seconds and the TKM would win so easily its not even funny. So the ranged guy is bound to try and stay at range, what choice does he have? He might as well shoot himself through the head to save you the trouble of kiling him.

The problem is that of certainty. As it stands, the ranged guy can stay at range, unless you lure him into a building or he lacks the ability to run over rough terrain fast. So unless you refuse to be kited and run the other way (basicly making it a draw if he refuses to run into a confined space) then the ranged guy will win, unless you manage to outmanoeuver him, and that isnt possible if the guy is careful and avoids running in a small enough circle to let you cut across him to 15 m for a lunge.

Basicly the TK needs a 'chance' to snare. It should be a small chance that can be used every few seconds, so that if someone kites you, the longer the fight goes on for, the more chance there is they will end up snared. At that point, it should end up being 50/50 whether you snare them in time to kill them before they kill you.

There is the other alternative of course. TK is a very cheap profession, and you could stack it with anything, like master pistoleer and the dirty tricks line of smuggler, or even comando. That rather elminates any possibility of kiting you. Howeber I know many including me see this as against the spirit of being a TKM. I argue and continue to argue that we should pay more for the profession so as to gain more from it however.
