Anyone know any background on the Teras Kasi? All i seem to find is stuff about Arden Lyn from Masters of Teras Kasi PS game. Whom seems to be the first TK in the SW universe. The i found a quote:

Little is known about the mysterious Arden Lyn. She was one of the last masters of Teräs Käsi ("steel hand"), the martial art taught by the ancient order called the "Followers of Palawa" on Bunduki. Her flawless mastery of that art made her an impressive opponent.

Anyone know anything else about the history of Teras Kasis?

GL has to write the history of Teras Kasi in. Until then there will only be speculation. Even GL's writings are debateable.

After i posted this, i did some online search, so that should note the validity of any of this info:

===================================================

From the PS Game Master of the Teras kasi:

Arden Lyn

Little is known about the mysterious Arden Lyn. She was one of the last masters of Teräs Käsi ("steel hand"), the martial art taught by the ancient order called the "Followers of Palawa" on Bunduki. Her flawless mastery of that art made her an impressive opponent.

teras kasi
The intricate movements and forms of this Force-sensitive fighting style are based on the hunting characteristics of various beasts throughout the galaxy: Charging Wampa, Rancor Rising, Ultimate Krayt Dragon, Stalking Vornskr, Drunken Dianoga, and many more. The skills of this martial art discipline the fighter to have complete control over their body, allowing them to utilize midair acrobatics to direct their falls and so avoid striking potentially lethal obstructions. Lightsaber training keys on smooth parries and counterattacks.
Two standout Masters of Teras Kasi were the Palawan Warrior Arden Lyn, and the Sith apprentice Darth Maul.
NOTE -

A portion of the previous was taken from the novel, Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter.

From TheForce.Net's Epanded Universe Trivia Questions:

What is teras kasi?
It is a form of hand-to-hand combat. It translates to 'steel hands'.

Which star cluster and planet is Teras Kasi taught on? Who teaches it? Who is the master of it?
It is taught in Pacanth Reach, a remote star cluster in the Outer Rim. It is taught on the planet Bunduki by the hermits called the Followers of Palawa. Arden Lyn is the Master of the Teras Kasi.

one more chunck i found:

==========================================

The Followers of Palawa were intense contemplators of existence. Consequently, they unwittingly mastered the Force trance. The longest lasted an unbelievable seventy years, during which the Followers seemed to have hardly aged. It wasn't, however, until encountering the martial art teras kasi that these philosopher-hermits mined the deepest channels of the Force and were seduced by the dark side. Like the Jedi, there were masters of teras kasi who used the Force malevolently.
NOTE -

A portion of the previous was taken from the instruction booklet of LucasArts Entertainment Company's video fighting game, "Masters of Teras Kasi." (for the Sony Playstation game console)

A portion of the previous was taken from "The Emperor's Pawns" in issue #5 of Star Wars Gamer magazine.

==========================================

Anyone can add to this? corrections?

That's kind of funny because the roleplaying game says that Teras Kasi artists aren't atuned to the force, but they can be trained to sense it and so on. Then, of course, TKAs are wary of the jedi and dark jedi because they have all that power yet a force sensitive individual can undergo jedi training and then learn Teras Kasi because their beliefs shifted and they're more powerful than the jedi they're wary of.

I'm sure Lucas has to approve everything that bears his trade mark, but there are way too many inconsistencies. Lucas is going to have to go through everything with a fine-tooth comb and make everything right. He might be able to make some sense out of all this specualtion and such.

Jedi uses the force around them to aid them in battle and otherwice, where as the Teras Kasi uses the force within them and uses it in battle, Both er FSS but wields the force differently

none of those happen to be either cannon or official, except for atone's Shadow's of the Empire.

A quotation on page 130 of Agents of Chaos II will reveal that the Teras Kasi art is "mystical in nature" - that doesn't necessarily mean the Force.

There is basically little information on the Teras Kasi, so you really need to forget the idea of being "on par with Jedi" or being a "jedi martial art."
