I got this game a few months ago, and originally wanted to be a master smuggler, and master pistoleer, with some medic skills. I mastered smuggler recently, and discovered the famous "triple threat" (TKM, Master Pistoleer and Master Smuggler,) I thought, "what the heck.." so I worked my way from unarmed 4 to novice tka (probably the least amount of fun I've had in the game...hehehe) and when I got novice tka, I went back to dantooine, and after 1 hour, I'm already 0011, and I'm actually having FUN grinding. I just wanted to say to all the people that are intimidated by the unarmed 4 - novice grind, don't be, it's very worth it when you finally get novice. Thanks for creating a profession I can love, devs, and thanks for reading my post.

Yeah, I'm working on the triple threat myself, and just hit novice TKA a few days ago. It's crazy how much of a difference that one box on Novice is. Now I'm having fun, slicing terminals for higher payouts, then just rushing in and killing everything. Leveling like crazy, at 0011 already and almost to 0021. Wearing out speed sliced vibroknucklers left and right, but it's sure a lot of fun doing it. One of these days (probably tomorrow) I'm going to actually go get some buffs and head off for my next part of the DeadEye quest, then spend the rest of the buff time killing higher level mobs to see what kind of exp I can get. Been just doing diff 13 missions on Corellia, so I'm about ready for a little more of a challenge.

Now if only I could get slicing 2 so I can actually grind the rest of that tree out, and be able to slice my own stuff. =) As far as I'm concened, the Pistol part of the triple threat can wait until I'm done with TKA.

Just remember to wait until you hit Master to slice your own stuff, I was stupid and did it at slicing 2, hehe.

I can't believe how boring pistoleer is to grind compared to TKA. Good luck, though.

Oh, I'll probably go ahead and start slicing mybetter stuff when I get the Slicer title. Not a huge difference there, and I'm not using Elite stuff yet anyway. I'm saving up a ton of junk weapons from all the containers i'm slicing though for the grind. When I run out, there's always crates of CDEF pistols and/or stone daggers.

And yes, I started on Pistoleer, and realized it was too boring to do right now. I'd rather work up my ranged/melee/etc. defenses from the TKA tree before going back to it. My DX2 will be ready for me when I'm ready to use it again. I still use it every now and then when a mob runs from me, but that's about it for now.

I totally agree, TK is very fun, and the most balance profession in the game.

The one I like that I'm working on is TKM, Master Rifle and couple lines of Fencer. I play with a group sometimes and when kinetic resists are high, I can pull back and provide long range support with my trusty t-21. When I'm hanging out on Dant and someone decides to run into the MO with a dark Jedi right behind them, I usually do rifle support.

I've done most of the professions out there myself and I have to agree that Melee in general and TKA in specific are by far the most fun to do. AndI just love meditate

Taras kasi is easily my favorite proffesion in this whole game. Once you get past that grind to novice, its nothing but good times. Even the "grind" seemed fun for me while i was getting 5k xp off tuskens right off novice. I hope the devs never do anything to hurt tka because its definitally the most balanced proffesion in the whole game. TARAS KASI FOR LIFE /kowtow

The Tri-Master is awesome. You'll have more fun with that than almost any other template.

As long as you can stand the randomness of slicing, you'll love smuggler! I only dropped it when I had 15 speed slices in a row on Acklay/Krayt Weapons.
