Thread: on vibroknucklers, is damage or speed more important?
i bought 2 damage 167 speed 2.2 vibroknucklers and im going to try to slice them. will damage or speed be better on these?
are you a master or a novice what are your skills?
i would go for damage cause with power 4 you hit the 1 sec speed cap with any VK with 2.0 to 2.2 speed

my slices ended up being 17% damage and 30% speed. that puts one at 195 damage and the other at 1.5 speed. is damage still better?
speed now, damage later.
you'll have to decide for yourself when to make the change.
btw, this is ALWAYS the case when slicing weapons. at master, a speed slice on ANYTHING is worthless. at novice, a dmg slice is worthless.
a novice needs the speed lowered to make up for their lack of skillmods. a master (or in many cases, a player beyond novice) has already hit the speed cap, and can only benefit from increased damage. EXACTLY when the speed cap is hit depends on the skills you take, the weapon, and the profession.
I'd look for the lowest HAM cost in a pair of VKs for the fights in which you don't want more damage, but just want to spam specials with AP1 without killing yourself.
My partner is a Master Weaponsmith and he's been experimenting.

I've been asking him to to make me low ham VK's. The last couple he made me were3.2 speed / 17-100 damage /19-31-19 HAM costs, sliced.. he's also a Master Smuggler. My theory is that I already do tons of damage and am plenty fast, but what always gets me is the HAM costs of knucklers. With these things and a power boost I can spam UA3 for a long time if I my opponent is armored, which is really the only time I ever use VK's anyway.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.. -)

speed is important untill u get about power techniques 3-4 then go over to damaging ones

as YOUR speed increases, and as the HAM costs for specials increase, and if you wear armor... yes, the base HAM on the VK's becomes VERY important...
spam away with those low-HAM VK's... they sound (at master) like the right tool for the job.
Speed til 4 or higher.
