Thread: CoB broken?????

Hello,


just logged in after publish and had a chat to a few fellow players about the issues of this patch ( and we all know,every patch has its own new issues ) and had a look on Jedi forums.... full of complains ( who would have thought lol ), but all post pub.... AB immune Critters ( Gorax, DWB ), Aura nerf ( +500 defence, equal to our CoB ) and other stuff....


... so i went out to Kashyyyk to test dmg and defence with two friends and "viola", aura seems to be broken, as same as CoB.... I cant see any difference in the hits on me with or without CoB.... players and critters seem to deal same dmg on me, no matter if CoB is up or not.... any1 recognized this too?


... oh, and the high AB immunity on several NPCs/Mobs is confirmed, great, as if the DWB ( for example ) wouldnt be hard enough already ( at least for the guys/girls9 u need to drag down there to craft....

I've just heard of this myself, I'm glad someone has posted here since the info I had was just "CoB is broken" so not the most usful stuff in the world. I'll do some tests tomorow & start proding the devs if I find the same. Having been mining in space all night tonight I havn't noticed it my self since I have done no ground combat.

Anyone that can add more info (ie verbose combat spam with & without CoB) please do.

As I say I'll test a bit myself tomorow if I have the chance, but the most info the better. & also make sure you add as much info as you can, any foods you might be using, armour, weapons, species, sex, anything & everything that could effect it.

Edit: Stickied thread till tomorow to try & get more info.

On the AB stuff. That's intended, with the new AI & so on CL has been lowered on many things & immunities added to stop something from been too easy, so although you can no longer AB NPCs in the DWB you will notice they are no longer as high a CL as they used to be.

What about the action regen on these creatures? Is that fixed or still a problem?

Tested CoB for ya mankind it still adds the defense but breaks alot easier and your opponent wont miss like used to.But the actual defense upgrade was still htere for me but ill tell u this much i am a lot slower lag is alot worse in this new patch i know i said dont hate the patch till it comes out but now........... The rest is unsaid. So yea also if u can our cob is breaking way to often fightign some jedi and every hit he gets on me breaks my cob timer. Something is up here and i am a bit worried did the 0 condition clothign thign come up yet?

Translation:

Melee is getting screwed in PVP and in PVE with this patch. Our high dmg output comes primarily from AB. Without it we are being easily outdamaged by ranged professions. (I am still looking for those triple capped swords and knucklers.. If you find them, please let me know.) Before you bring up tanking...our only advantage right now is +250 (vs BH duelist stance) in COB.... (and even that can be achieved by mixing TK with ranged and a macro). I am once again quite disapointed with our developers... I dont know if they all joined the NRA, or just developed some dislike to melee professions...It could also be that the lead developer has a BH toon.

I did a quick test on this. First against CL15 Banthas (only thing I could find right away). This one needs to be retried against a higher level mob. The COB did not affect the hit strength at all the Bantha was applying, but I suspect it was because it was so low.


Next I dueled a MBH with them spamming a basic ranged shot against me. Without any food and no cob applied, I was sustaining 238 points of damage out of a possible 461. When I applied the cob, the damage went down to 116 our of 322.


The biggest curiosity to me is why did the total possible damage reduce to 322 when I applied cob. I would have just expected the innate armor to absorb more. But I was happy to see the cob still working.


On a side note, I tested our attacks against those crazy Bantha.


Melee hit gave 835 pts of damage


Melee strike gave 906 points of damage


Head hit gave 1264 points of damage


and Advanced Combo attack gave 1311 points of damage, but still only told me I applied 477 points of damage.

the reason his total damage went down was due to the diff between your defence and his acc.

On TC, and i can confirm as i was part of a group, and did a LJ on it (leroy jenkins), the lvl of the DWB is 84 and higher, all elite to some extent. With CoB and PB (my temp is TKM/mpikey), they hit me for 600+. Without? lets say i would have had a quicker trip back to the starport. From what i see, they made the DWB a full temp jedi group place. We had 10 people, two healers, two jedi, three rifleman, the rest melee and got waxed pretty easily. We put up a fight, got to the first main big room, but after that it was over.


Its almost as if the ones to be has made where if you want any kind of content whatsoever, you have to be a pilot and/or jedi, two profs i could care less about. If you are neither of the two, you HAVE to be in a group to get anything done. I know about the whole 'MMORPG' thing, and i dig it totally, but to make me go jedi/pilot/group to get anything done is absurb. I know, i'm ranting, but this does bring up a point. Make it where you don't need groups to do everything, or pilot....or jedi for that matter. I know there are quests out there i can do solo, but they are so far below my lvl its not fun to do. I just do them to be doing something besides waiting for my harvestors to get to a certain point before I sell it all.

For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

You don't need jedi at all - if the DWB got harder, then I would preferably take some melee stackers down there as opposed to jedi - jedi aren't quite as strong as a good melee stacker, and it really gets inconvenient stopping for force all the time
