Thread: Do humans make good TKA's ?

My friend is quitting the game and gave me a human with 3200 CH, medic skills and Pistoleer. Is the Trandoshan advantage enough to just delete this char and reroll? Exactly how much of an advantage does being Trandoshan make once you are master TKA, and during the leveling climb?

thanks!

There is no great advantage to being a Transhodan TKA. Transhodan's I believe have a higher regeneration rate, but all the TK moves are the same and damage output is the same as well.

Anyone please correct me if Im wrong

I play a human TKA or TKM now.

Never tried a different species, bit I seem to manage fine.

Maybe there are advantages and benifits playing a different race, but Human TKM works fine for me.

I'm pretty sure Trands make better TK's. You start out with +10dmg and +10spd (i think thats right). You'll always be ahead of say a human, who does not start out with those skills. As we all know, some species have better startup skills...like a Rodian has +10 on pistol and rifle use from the start. And the regen on the Trand is awesome. I once once stuck on attack, so i dueled my pistoleer friend to incap so I could get out of the "fight" mode, I went prone on the ground while he shot me...took for ever cuz my regen was so high. Granted we wasnt an awesome pistoleer, yet, but you get the idea.

So you it means enough for you to be an awesome TK, the start a Trand.

I was going to ask this question myself. I currently am a master tka but twilek. I'm come to realize that they don't make great tkas. Damage is fine, but taking damage is not. I want to pvp so i maxed my mind stats first.

780health/300/550

780action/600/300

1100mind/500/500

i think that's right, may be off bout 5 points. But the fact of the matter is i regen mind too slow. Which causes a problem cuase i have low hp and have to heal in battle. Not only that but my stats are low not letting me wear armor, which is a must in pvp. Almost feel forced to go doc with this character but i don't think it'll help much with my mind regenbeing so low.

So now i'm looking at rerolling to a human, or zabrak.

Human can get this stat loadout

800/400/400

800/400/400

800/500/900

Just like a zabrak only lower health/action by 100, and mind by 200. BUT, all your secondaryies are at 400 which will allow you to wear armor easier ( i think you need a min of 400 in all secondary stats to wear a sliced composite). Not to mention the factional bonus you get if you are imperial (or should i say lack of penalty). And 5% bonus xp when hunting. Not to mention the largest choices of hair (2nd only to human males) from an image designer. 38 styles

Zabrak can get this stat loadout

900/300/300

900/300/300

1000/500/900

So they have higher mind and good regen just as fast as my human if i made the human with the above stats. They get + to defenses, while it's only +10 to dizzy/stun/intimidate. They do get equiilibrium, which is awesome no doubt.

Now Trands... everyone is a trand nowadays, or so it seems. They give you an advantage from unarmed1-4 with the + damage. But after that it's not noticable. If my twilek is doing 1500 with unarmed3, a trand is doing 1650. They would be no stronger stat wise to my twilek as well if they placed their points in mind then spread the rest out. They can't wear armor on the feet or hands so that limits them of 8slots that can hold powerups, let alone armor.

But before i reroll and stat the unarmed grind again. I'd like to hear from the human tka masters, i know there's a few. If you could do it over again, would you stay human?

All right, but apart from the sanitation droids, bionic limbs, hyper-drive, moisture vaporators, galactic order, abolisment of slavery, star charts, the compact and efficient central government and interplanetary free trade, what has the Empire ever done?"

shhhh, don't scare the coyote

800/400/400

800/500/900

Just bit of Info as I play human TKA

Before this big patch the settings on my human stats (not 100% sure on primaries, but should be close maximums) were

*Health 1100

Strength 400 - 600

Constitution 400 - 500

*Action 900

Quickness 400 - 550

Stamina 400 - 500

*Mind 1100

Focus 400 - 600

Willpower 400 - 600

Now they seem to be settable higher (since the changes to allow buffs to show up in character stats), but only since patch now that may be an added feature and can now push stats way past what they were locked at to start with, or it could just be a bug that may end up getting fixed later.

I have had the same human character since release and the stats have always been these settings, until yesterdays patch which makes me think it may be a bug not a change that was supposed to occur.

I'd say use whatever race you feel represents you the best and one you enjoy playing the most. I went for the Trand at first because that's the best race for a TKA, but after a few days of play I realized I absolutely hated the look. So, I rerolled a Human instead and I've never looked back. I kick plenty of ass and I don't see a Trand TKA a whole lot more powerful than myself, if at all. So, just go with what you think would suit you and forget about the min/max'ing.

It also depends on where you stand in the Galactic Civil War.

If you lean towards the Imperial faction, you may want to go with human for the faction perks (or absence of penalties). Keep whatever character you have, and try others on different servers. That's what I do...

How good would aMon Cal be as a TKA?

They have the best mind stats in the game which might make a big difference in PVP with all the BH's/riflemen spamming head shot.

And with the powerboost that TKA get, it will be even better right? Or will they regen health and action too slow? And what stat setup would ya'll recomend?

I don't really like playing something everone else is playing... I like to be different

trandoshans have +10 unarmed dam. so yes they will be more powerful. not by much, but still more powerful. i personally think it makes it easier when you go through unarmed 1-4 and getting to novice, but other then that its basically no difference.

one thing you should remember is that trans have really bad secondary stats. 450/400 max on both action 2ndaries. and 500/600 secondaries for health.

i think other races have better stats for regen but overall trans is the best power output

Actually, our secondary stats are only really crappy on the action bar. We have a base str of 600 and a base con of 700. You can set these down nearly all the way and still have an advantage. Focus can't be set very high, but willpower can go pretty high. not zabrak high by any means, but high enough.

The natural speed/damage we Trandos get is only noticable until you train Power Tech 1. From what I could tell, once you hit power 1, everyone is pretty equal. Sony keeps talking about balancing all speed and damage calculations so that it will indeed matter, but I think we can safely say that ain't going to happen. Regeneration is pretty nice too, but not a deal breaker if you are looking to go human or zabrak.

My advice to stick with either human, zabrak, trando, or wookie. I'm not saying all other races suck for TK's, that would be pretty silly on my part. I just personally think that you will have more sucess in battle (PvE and PvP) with those races over the others.

just my 2 cents
