Hey,

I've been borwsing the tk forums for a long time; I'm an old teras kasi master, and remember people such as LoBai, etc. (what happened to that guy anyway?). Anyway, I've noticed that I cant find much information of these vibro motors I've heard tossed around - they improve a standard VK in different ways, from what I gather. But who/what drops it? I must have killed 50 Nyms, and all I have is a broken datapad and 30 energy capacitators. How many Nym motors are needed in the construction of a VK? How much does it improve the damage/wound/speed by? what is the max? etc. I tried using search for these things, btw...but what I got was very vague answers to my questions, and also, the information might have been rendered useless, thanks to a new patch.

I looted 7 off a tusken warlord once at tusken fort.

You can loot 'high power vibro motors' from Nym's Elite on Lok, including the ones roaming about the stronghold. Some people claim other Nyms drop them but I've looted many of these things now and all have dropped from Elites. They tend to drop rarely (though not THAT rarely), and when they do,in batches of 3 or 4.

They add +20 or +25 to the maximum damage of your VK when used by your favourite weaponsmith to craft the vibro unit that goes in to the VK. Its not a huge difference and you are still reliant on a good slice. A +20 motor with a very good damage slice will max at around 225 damage, which is roughly the best VK you are going to get without using a good motor from Axva Min on Dath.

Because of the rareness of good slices I am currently using a 212 max, but it does the job, pve anyway:-)

They've also been known to dropoff nym's droidekas...just an FYI

Gah, droiddekas are a damn pain...everytime I run to hit them, they roll backwards and keep shooting -_- hard to fight. And btw, do Nym elite pirates drop motors too? cuz where I'm hunting, on fort Lok, there are only two elite pirates and one droiddeka.

30 energy caps off of 50 Nyms? Man I wish I had your luck.

Nym Vibro Motors are the most common VK enhancement. They give +20-29 increase of damage, +20 being the norm.
Nyms also drop wound enhancing motors that aren't really useful these days with everyone being buffed in pvp.

Jawas drop a different, more crappy version that gives + to min, max, wounds and ham.

There are also nightsisters that drop +30-+100 motors that would be a waste in a standard VK. They are required for the Nightsiter energy lance and the upcoming Razor Knuckler. I would save them for those uses.

All of these motors can also be used to enhance pike stuff as well, although is often required in pairs where VK's require only 1.

By the way, anything with "nym" in the title can drop motors, caps, etc. Even the animals and droids.

Can I find Nym's Elite on a POI? If not can you tellme where I should be looking for them?

There are usually 4-6 Elites at Nyms Stronghold, walking around the streets.

If the place is empty another TK has bet you to them.

Luckily they spawn fairly frequently, though I may be lucky in that Farstar server seems to have less campers here than others (wish I could say the same of Axkva Min).

If there are none you could just run Nym missions though as I said in a previous post I only ever looted the things off Elites. More than likely they drop off all Nyms, but more frequently off the higher cons.

I hadn't heard of the jawa drops. Are they really that bad? Higher minimum damage is useful when you are pvping against peeps with damage mitigation.

Final note: Axkva Min, who spawns once a day on server reset at the Nightsister stronghold on Dathomir, is the only Nightsister who drops Vibro Units. These are different from motors... you can either use a motor to create a better vibro unit OR replace a crafted vibro unit with a potentially much superior Nightsister Vibro Unit. As has been said, these units are a requirement of the new Heat damage Razor Knuckler on test and are best kept for that. Unfortunately on Farstar she is camped at server reset (4am!) by peeps who appear to never sleep. I hardly ever see her, and even if you beat her its a farely rare drop. I hope they increase her spawn rate to at least that of the acklay.

Your best bet might be to just buy them off someone...I spent hours looking and could never find them. Eventually I gave up, bought the items for around 200-300k each...got an awesomedamage slice one and I have a 225 max damage VK
