Thread: Force Of Will Broken? anyone having this issue?

is anyone getting a problem with there force of will whereby it does some of the following: after using it it will either give you 100 or more wounds on your HAM or totally white bar your HAM or clone you if you are near a cloner.
this is without 3rd incap or bieng Death Blown.
i allow myself to be incapped when my mind is running low and use FOW instantly because it returns it to full mind when i'm buffed but i seem to be getting this black barring and white barring being the most common.
anyone else having this issue?

Each time I've used FoW my HAM has been white (Ok, I normally have 10 or so on the HAM, but basically white barred). I assumed it was a change to how FoW worked, much like how spice downers leave you "white-barred" now....

i'm talking totally white barred now HAM whatsoever this could be explained by the HAM differential even so what about the wounds and the cloning?

I think you had a bad roll. I used FoW last night and it restored me (with some minor wounds) to combat condition. I wonder if they changed the outcome distribution. With FoW only working once per hour, it is extremely difficult to create a viable histogram of the outcomes. But, if we were to band together and pool our results maybe we could shed some light on the subject. Let me know if you are interested in testing this out in Bria, Konik.

Force of will has never been a garaunteed skill, you can sometimes completely fail and kill yourself with it. I've been a Teras Kasi for a long time, off and on, but the majority of the last 8 months I've had varying levels of TKA, a good part of that was spent unbuffed and unarmored, so I would get incapped frequently while hunting. I've used FoW a lot, it seems to bring you back to full 5% of the time, restore you to equalized HAM about 25% of the time, bring you back with a small amount of wounds 50% of the time, bring you back with a ton of wound 15% of the time, and the last 5% you kill yourself trying to use it. I've not noticed any changes to the skill recently, and now that I have smuggler, I tend to feign death/FoW while hunting solo a lot. Fortunately, I can't die while feigned, but all the times I've used it, it seems to be working fine.

i used it a couple of times last night and got rolls on both ends of the spectrum.
The first time it said "you regain minimalconsciousness." I ended up with about 800 per stat.
the second time it said "you regain conciousness with minimal grogginess." or something like that, I had only 2-3 hundred from each stat missing.
So they work fine to me....but I was also unbuffed and unarmored. Your problem might have had something to do with using FOW and clashing with the encumbrance or your armor..... just my guess.

FoW is a crap shoot. When it fails, really bad things can happen, including most of what you said (when you woke in a cloning center, what probably happened is that you got a DB right before you hit "enter" for your FoW action and accidentally chose a clone location when the menu popped up, it can happen so fast you don't even see it).

It is a bit of a crapshoot. My worst FoW attempt left me totally blackbarred (all three) and I had 1 point left in each. Rather than meditate off the mind damage, I decided I'd level some novice entertainers instead

when i have low BF it seems to have a better chance than when it is high
Dunno if that has anything to do with it

I tried FOW a few days ago, said I failed to do something, and i 'drifted back into unconsciousness'. That's the first time it failed for me. (I'm TKM) I had no mind bar, so maybe that affected it some way?

Force of Will has successfully recapacitated me 1 out of the last 10 times. The other 9, I took at least 100 wounds and stayed incapped... Either I'm rolling really badly, or it is broken.

Seems bugged yes, last five times I used it I never had decent revocery
