As the topic would suggest, I, being a trandoshan should be the most logical race for a tkm what with our free bonuses to unarmed. Sadly, I lack the finesse that most of my "lesser" co-races seem to be blessed with.
My problem is that fickle mistress that is the mind pool. Despite having thrown all my stat points into mind and its subs, I still end up causing myself MAJOR mind damage by using my specials. Around 5 seconds is all it takes for me to mind incap myself when fighting gurrecks, and you can tell where that leads to (one VERY mad trandoshan). I have tried everything to aid my survival (buffs, 90% composite armor, special HAM affecting food and drink) but nothing seems to work. If one of my fellow trandoshans could please post a strategy that works well for them, I'd be very much obliged

I generally go for two lots of Brandy and Mind buff.... The only thing I can suggest is that you Vibro Knuckles have huge HAM costs to use and you should get new ones

Try gettin hold of some canapes too. The ones i have buff your mind secondaries by 750 for 10 mins. I usually pop 2 brandy and one of them when i wade into a fight.

I don't know why people use Canape and not Ahrisa. Ahrisa has the same duration as Brandy which generally lasts until your stomach can be filled up again. They are 33 filling and +400ish to your Focus. If you pop three, in addition to your bonus to focus from Brandy, you won't see your mind bar move at all from mind costs.

Brandies + Ahrisa = 40 mins of cost free special spamming time.
If you can't afford it try for muon gold and brandies..
Ahh muon that brings back the good ole days, and that sick feeling in my stomach.

Thanks for the advise, but I don't think any of you can really relate to my situation what with not beingtrandoshan yourselves, your HAM pools aren't generally poor. What I really need is a stat migration template used by a tkm trandoshan, one who can afford to go head to head against a nightsister for more than 3 seconds

Get some 70% ubese instead of your 90% comp, that encumberance is killing you.

I'm a Trandoshan TKM and I can tank just about anything but those new force-wielding DJK/DJM's...
My mind, focus, and willpower are capped. Health is at 775 and everything else is base.
Buy some ahrisa..you will see how it works out..

What do you mean everything else is at base? After the full mind, focus and will plus the 775 health you still have 475 stat points left over. I need to know how they are arranged

Pure buffed template.
Health: Maxed
Action: Maxed
Mind and Mind Secondaries: Maxed
I don't really have all the points put in. But those are the places you wanna put those points.
If you have more wherever you put them is your choice. I'd suggest strength or quickness.

H 650/650/600
A 650/450/400
M Maxed on all 3 (this is how i think its set up, can't remember exactly)
Basically ive maxed all my secondaries in H/A/M Put Health and Action to 650 and Maxed Mind
I can happily solo NS protectors. Get good brandy and get low encum armour otherwise you are obviously gonna get mind mushed.

I am at work so I can't give exact stats on my trandoshan But this is the setup that works well for me. Irearly incap...
I have ruffly this stat setup..
Health 700
Action 900
Mind 800
And no secondairy stats below 400 to 450 and any extra I would place in the mind secondairy stats..
Currently I am Master Brawler, Medic 4444, Scout 4040 and working on getting my TK skills.. My stats mean that I need to wear armor to be effective in a fight aganist med to high end mobs.. I relie on Brandy, And C Stims along with a 50% - 60% Ubese kinetic protected armor.. Its light and within my price range.. I'd suggest you getting at least Medic 4040 then you can heal yourself reasonaly well and use C Stims to do it.. With this setup I am able to solo Sharnaffs on Corellia just fine. Sure takes some time but I never incap unless there a 3+ Bulls in the area...
Hope this helps..

I'm a trandoshan TKM. Here are my stats:
700 Health
600 Strength (low cap)
700 Constitution (low cap)
800 Action
450 Quickness (high cap)
400 Stamina (high cap)
1000 Mind (high cap)
450 Focus
450 Willpower
You should definitely have Mind capped so you can get 500 points in Powerboost.
If I want to be a super tank, I get doctor buffs and then drink 2 brandy and eat 1 ahrisa and some synthsteak. The ahrisa and 2 brandy drinks all last 40 minutes, and at that point my stomach is close to or completely empty. The synthsteak has such a low filling rate that you can pretty much keep using it when it gets used up.
I can spam Unarmedhit3 over and over and it only takes away 5 points of Mind which regenerate instantly. Oh and this is with a composite helm and chestplate.
I feel your pain, Diagram. It took me a lot of experimentation to find something that works. Armor is always going to be your bane because without gloves and boots, you will always have armor holes (that synthsteak helps a bit). Personally I avoid legs, bracers and arms because they don't seem to make much of a difference anyways.
