Thread: Wouldn't it be easier to just walk up to the enemy and suicide?
I know this has been discussed multiple times before, but I just got TK novice a few minutes ago, and tried UH2 with my VK's. This is crazy, I attacked a cowardly gurreck, and I basically killed myself FOR the gurreck with the HAM costs.
I'm having sooo much trouble figuring out my stats as a human, if anyone can lend a hand, please do
can someone that's playing a human TKA, lend me a hand with stats?

Just don't use special moves. Honestly, if you think that's bad, try playing a Swordsman or Pikeman. The Long Vibro Axe and Power Hammer use 3-4 times as much HAM per attack. In terms of HAM costs, you TKAs really have it pretty easy.
they recently lowered our Ham costs for things like knock down and what not, but no way do i buy that swords and pikemen cost more ham. not in a million years.
Im a master brawler and i dabbled in fencing swords and pike, pike is exspensive, but nothing like TK ham costs with a VK on, not even close. We orginaly had a 750 ham cost for using knock down, now its 300. Try using pikemens lunge 2 and compare the two. or heck compare unarmed hit 3 and polearm hit 3. TK ham is the most expsneive because we deal massive amounts of dmg per second, our DPS is the highest of all 4 melee professions, but our ham costs are also the highest.
I'm a human TKA (1/2/2/2)
I'm look at stats 1000/900/900 and the rest in the first secondaries to reduce move cost.
I'm using about 345 for a VK knockdown and a little over 100 for a UH2. (note my secondaries are not done with this migration yet so it may drop more.) Generally I use a stun and pound away on white cons if there's a chance a second one will aggro me. Otherwise I'll use a KD/UH2 combo for about 2k to 3k damage to the moband 400 HAM cost to me. Heal myself and stun the thing then resume pounding. All with the vibro's on.
If you want to fight multiples or yellow cons its a different ball game, more tactics and more true unarmed fighting is require to take THOSE down.
Noone said TKA was easy. BH's may be able to waste red cons, that doesn't mean you can. lol
It's hard to make suggestions about VK's, because character stats vary widely. If your secondary stats are high enough, and your VK'sare built reasonably well (with marginal special costs), the damage you take for doing the special isn't that bad. Also, you may want to think twice about wearing armor (I'm not saying that you wear armor, of course ... just throwin' that out there.) The thing you don't want to do is 'spam' specials with VK's/Armor equipped. Doing so can be disasterous.
Personally, I hardly ever use VK's anymore. The damage bonus that we received with the latest patch has tipped the balance (for me, at least) so that I don't see much gain in using them. As a TKA/Doctor, I am usually able to take more hits (self-healing is handy), so my situation might be a little different than yours. (Ialso weara couple of Ubese armor pieces.) I often find thatour debuffs (blind, stun, intimidate, warcry, etc.)are significant factors in combat, especially when we're soloing. It's easier to get all of these moves to "stick", without theHAM cost, byunequipping Vk's. Considering the fact that the HAM costs for our special arerather meager without VK's equipped, though, I don't see theneed to re-equip VK's (unless you're at 50 mind, and your opponent needs to go down fast.) Without VK's,I canuse any number of specials, repeatedly, without muchof a hit to my HAM bars. I'd rather be able to repeatedly apply/re-apply special states to my targets, than do massive damage ... at least, at the beginning of combat.
