Thread: Lost over 600k in XP....

Has anyone experienced this?

I was a TKA for a while, and got sucked into the Holo Grind. I got so upset over it I left the game for almost 4 months. I came back two days ago and thankfully, all my posessions, credits and XP was still there.

Here is what happened. I wanted to go back to TKA and I had over 600k in Unarmed XP so that was plenty to go up the Brawler line and then the Novice TKA and up a few areas. Now I trained in Novice Brawler and Unarmed I & II. After that I only had 5k in unarmed XP. I had over 600k. Novice Brawler was 0, Unarmed I was 1k and II was 5k. What happened to the rest of my XP?

I sent a /bug report but you all know how that goes. I will be a Master TKA before I get an answer. Has anyone had this happen to them and if so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks,
Marmaduke

You can only have so much XP over the max of the prior box, so when you trained in unarmed brawler your cap lowered causing you to lose your 600k xp.

with novice brawler your maximum xp is reduced to 20k. There should have been a message saying you have lost 590k of unarmed xp. i experienced the same with carbineer.

Thank you for the response. That explains it. Sucks though! Now I have to figure if I want to do that grind again....

Thanks again.

Correct, the same thing applied to my rifleman experience.

Never use the weapon again, because once you gain xp with it again, you will loose everything over the cap no matter what you train in.

If you are aiming to become FS, save this xp

Save what XP?

I was getting TKA back to have some combat and being a Master Doc and now able to wear some decent armor I figure I may be able to do more in PvP, but FS would be nice, however I am not aiming for it.

I'm not sure if this was a bug or if it was working as intended, but you can't "store" xp for when you need it anymore. I suspect it was snuck in among a patch sometime about a month or 2 ago.

yep once you train in a skill it rechecks to make sure you cap is correct. Thats why I have 900k of pistol xp stocked up for this FS stuff, and no Novice Marksman

edit: actually its been in since january I know that much...becuase I lost tons of survey xp back when I was a weaponsmith and I was giving someone some axp and accidentally untrained too far...

Based upon the new quest system that is on test you have to do numerous Force Sensitive skill boxes in order to advance into padawan now. This will turn your main character into a padawan or you can just gain slight force powers in order to complement your current template. You can find examples of the boxes here

sry earlier link was wrong this is correct one

you'll see to the left some boxes named combat prowess, enhanced reflexes, etc.. these are the new skill boxes that the quests will unlock, which you have to master in order to become a padawan.

With the new system to becoming force sensitive and/or moving on to become a jedi, you have to first become force sensitive (check the TC forums or jedi Forums for more on this). Once you become force sensitive, you need to do quest to unlock each line of the force sensitive boxes. After you unlock those, you need to acquire FS xp to be able to train those unlocked FS boxes. IN order to get FS xp, you have to grind out normal xp and go to one of the villagers in the FS village on dantooine (which you can only enter if your already force sensitive). When you talk to the correct guy (i forget his name) he will allow you to convert all of your saved XP into FS XP so you can then trained the FS box of your choice (or whatever boxes you have unlocked).

The ratios of converting weapon specific xp(heavy weapons, pistols, unarmed, rifles, carbines, 1 hand...etc)is 30 -> 1

The ratio for converting combat xp is 3 -> 1

So if you have 900k unarmed xp and 300k combat xpsaved up, it will convert to 30k FS xp and 100k FS xp respectively giving you 130k to train the FS box of your choice. The FS xp needed to train boxes start at 50k FS xp for level 1 boxes and I think it doubles for every box after that.....50k, 100k, 200k, 400k, 800k for master......So it takes 3.4 million FS xp to train one area of force sensitive. Ther are 4 FS branches....heightened senses, combat prowess, Crafting mastery and Enhanced reflexes.......all together you need 13.6 million FS xp to train them all which means you have to grind out 408 million weapon specific xp or 40.8 million combat xp or combination of both. unless of course my math is incorrect, either way you need a load of normal xp to train in the force, period.

So saving up any xp you currently have is something you should think about doing if you are gonna go force sensitve or jedi...makes the grind a bit easier.

This means, don't train in any profession that you have lots of xp in and only have low level boxes trained or have not boxes at all. For example, I dropped pistoleer after mastering it and have 900k xp and 300k combat xp saved up.....there is no need for me to master pistoleer again except if I simply just liked being a pistoleer...however, since I want force sensitivity, it is in my best interest to leave pistoleer alone and convert that xp instead of losing it just to become a pistoleer again. Besides, I've mastered it so it already counts towards unlocking my Force Sensitivity.

Hope I've explained it well enough.
