Well what is your unarmed skill now? Till I got unarmed IV I was killing mostly gulama's near theed, or even spiders, but didn't use buffs back then. After I got unarmed IV and finally decided to go for novice what I did was grab my armor (mostly ubese), get my set of buffs, crate of muon and fishak. Went to dant and did savage quenker missions for the durations of the buff, right as the buffs ran out I took out the last lair, and voila, novice tka. I pretty much stayed in beserk the whole time I was fighting and had my pistoleer skills in case things got a bit rough, or spice downer hit at the wrong time. It was a long 2.5/3 hours but once I hit novice I wondered why I was using a pistol in combat, heh.

here is my way to tk novice:

Started out fesh on a server without anything, no cash, no friends ( ), no nothing. Started on Correlia.

Killed some meatlumps until UA1, got some missions to do correlian butterflies and those rat thingys (vorrt maybe, not sure) until i had money to buy a vibroknuckler (8k).

Kept running missions until i had some cash to buy a full set of Mabari at the bazaar (under 10k).

After that i joined sharnaff groups and bashed away at snaffs, using berserk as much as i could. Try to hunt in groups having atleast one medic.

Maybe not the fastest way, but one not requiring thousands of credits to buy ubese...

everyone always talks about having Ubese armor as a must. But what do you suggest for a wookie going for the TKA profession?

Buffs.... lots of buffs, and a big crate of muon. I recently also picked up medic, while you are still in the lower levels of it, buy some good stims, so you can heal yourself better. After I got medic I wonder how I ever did without it.

First, A suit of 70 percent Ubese is a must.

I did the same thing as the guy above said. I ran a lot of spiders, Kaduu, and Galamas on Naboo when I was not buffed. It seemed I was doing about 12-30 K an hour most of the time doing that. You have to be getting at least 500 per creature to make it worth your while. Hermet Spider Sentrys and Kaduu were my absolute favorites.

If you can get buffed, then grab some Moun Gold and head to Dantooine. Quenkers and Savage Quenkers are great Xp and aren't that hard to kill in reality. Buy a cheap droid, group with it (Doesn't have to be a probot, just any droid), leave it in townwith "stay" and you will bump your xp per kill on Savage Quenkers from about 3100 to about 3900 which really adds up over an evening. 6800 credits per mission isn't bad either.

I actually run the Savage Quenkers unbuffed to level up TKA as well and the bigger missions if I get buffed. They will take a bit of time until you reach novice, but after that I run a set of them in 10-15 minutes counting travel. My guess is at your level, they may take you 20-30 mintues to run two, but you will be getting around 20-25 k xp per lair. You are couple hours away with buffs from Novice, so hang in there.

If you want to really speed things up, equip a weapon that you have NO XP in when you pick up the quenker missions and you will get them really close (400-600) instead of 1500 which will shorten the time as well. I use the CDEF carbine when I take missions and I now get about 200k per hour xp running quenkers when I grind.

Happy Hunting

Personally, I would forget armour.Get agood set of Doctor's buffs, a crate of Vasarian Brandy (Get the BE enhanced, +428 to Mind/Focus/Willpower NOT the +200). You can drink two, so that's 856 to ALL Mind stats for 40 minutes. Group with a probot and leave him at the base. Get a fast VK - about 1.6 speed after slicing . Get Crazed Gurreck missions on Endor. Pull them with a CDEF pistol/carbine/rifle/trap, whatever and beat the crap outta them. They only aggro if they are very close to either you or the MOB you are attacking. You will get 30k ish exp in about 15 minutes (including the lair)

Later on, when you have a few boxes in TK, go to Tatooine and fight Dragonets or Razorbacks. You can find them by Krayt Canyon. You may have to be careful at first but soon you will be able to just stand by the nest with six or so chewing awayon you, at once. It sounds insane but I've actually left my char in that state, on auto attack, and made myself a cup of coffee.

The Dragonets nett up to 4k even when pretty high in TK, the Razorbacks nett about 2/3 of that. When you consider each nest/pile of bones coughs out 30 MOBs, that's over 100k exp in 15 minutes.

Good luck. I am confident it will be the most fun character you will ever play.

heh, having mastered this 7 times i think, would definately say get speed sliced VK's, a 70% suit of armor, scrap the doc buffs, and use warcry 24/7. Go to tatooine, group with a droid, and kill Scyks........they are 800 exp each and only have about 1200 HAM. They do use minor posions occasionally, will wear off quick though.

Once you hit TK novice, completely agree with the poster about, Dragonets and Razorbacks are the way to go.........i also recomend this for any other profession.

If you REALLY need help, master doctor real quick heh, i have seen it take some people 4 or 5 days to get TK novice. Mastering doctor takes about 6 hours to master from novice medic, if you grind......hard.......and have easy access to App points. TKM/Doc is also a great template to get to learn TKA with.

Then I would run Kaduu Missions around Theed and kill all the spiders you come in contact with. You'll get 800-1000 if I remember correctly and you should be able to kill them fairly easy. Run them as missions and buy buffs when you can afford them, it will help. I actually did most of my leveling for TKA novice on Naboo with Spiders and Kaduu. After that I found the quenkers and started using them. It will take you a couple of days of decent hardcore playing.

Well, i have all composite armor but a helmet and i have unarmed 4. Money doesn't come easy and i dont have spices. This means i get no buffs or spices or food....

Try helping this worthless cause.

I also use a 1.9 speed, 37-147 VK

If you are shy on money then just grab missions from the terminal. a little slower because you have to run back to town, but depending on your level and planet you should be getting around 2-10k creds per mission. Even at 10k for buffs (and you should find them cheaper but that is the highest I have ever seen), you should still be seeing positive income from running missions, I am barely past novice and I can clear 10-20k creds above my buff and travel costs running missions on Lok in about 90 minutes and I am not really working the money side. I'm sure if I was really working the money (picking the highest paying missions) I could probably double that.

Good luck

P.S. for all of you grinding to tka novice, hang in there. After novice it flies. I made over 40k xp last night in just over an hour and that was with me visiting my harvesters and doing some shopping.

I sure didn't find dragonets or razorbacks around the krayt canyon, to me crazed gurrecks seems the easiest, at least they are "missionable".

Yep, they can be a PITA to find but don't go deeper than the entrance. Sometimes you find that Bantha's or Rontos spawn in their place and you have to just clear them to get the bigger stuff to spawn. No real heartache because they are both easy and give fair exp. If you just circulate round the entrance killing anything worthwhile, you will be getting decent experience whilstwaiting forthe bigger stuff to spawn.
